PS3 PS3 Slim not displaying anything after installing Ultimate Toolbox

I recently got a ps3 slim and recently jailbroke it (evilnat 4.92). I tried installing Ultimate toolbox and the download failed.. then my display went kaput, so I'm not sure if the download just bricked my ps3...
I was using the RCA connector with an adapter for hdmi (the hdmi port doesnt work either (yes I tried messing with the display settings and reseting them))

Is that even possible without seeing the display? because at the moment theres nothing even if I reboot it or boot it in safe mode. Now idk if its bricked or not because previously it worked fine with the RCA cables but not with the hdmi…
 
Ultimate Toolbox only interacts with dev_flash, it doesn't touch any of core os or safe mode etc.

It sounds like your console might have just died naturally if this happened during download/installation. PS3s are very old now, they die all the time, its not always related to what you were doing at the time.

If you suspect its only the display output that is dead, you can see if a controller connects via usb for one test, see if it shows the 1 LED lit when you press the PS button, if it does that then it tells you its still working to some degree. I do have a video on how to reinstall FW blind with no display, its best done with a USB drive with a light on it so you can see its working. Needs to be followed very carefully.

I'm thinking the hdd may have just chosen that time to fail.

Unfortunately the devices I have (the TVs and my Monitor in my dorm) don't have any audio so I'm just screwed if I want to try and hear anything.

I'm assuming the .pup file is the one from the playstation website?

No you should install the same or newer CFW that is has now really. This will save you having to jailbreak again and also allow special PUPs like NoBD to install if needed later.

I just redownloaded the CFW and it works!! (with my hdmi to av converter) the direct hdmi connection still doesn't work but I can live with that... Thank you so much for this!
