Basicly what happened it restared my PS and now there is black image and greed light ,but no displey.
I can go into Recovery mode and when i try to install same 4.85 HFW or OFW version it just doesnt apper in there and you cant install any of thoes. I think i bricked it ?

PS

I know that you cant install CCAPI ,but it was too late when i red it :(

put hdd in pc and format it then install hfw twice and then hen.

you have to delete partition and format it. Formatting to NTFS always works, as the ps3 will reformat it anyways. Leaving unallocated probably also works. Use a partition wizard, such as Minitool Partition Wizard

Then it takes it but still ,there is black screen

Once you go to its SAFE MODE and click on any of that stuff it checks something and goes black or it just tells you : The system storage cannot be accessed

I'm having the exact same problem bro. Did you find a fix for it?

Hello people ,so PS lunched new update -4.86 ,so i downloaded hfw of 4.86 and updated PS from recovery mode and everthing is fine now ,its fixed !

@esc0rtd3w is there a way to put on the site a bigger warning closer to the download link?
People keep clicky clicky before they ready ready, and bricky brick.

I know that's not your fault, but I also know you try to take every possible step you can to prevent people from bricking. Maybe put the warning in larger letters than the download? It looks sufficient for normal everyday people right now IMO, but apparently I was wrong :)

OP: Those words on the page are there for a reason, and should be read BEFORE you even click download on anything. You almost lost everything, luckily there are developers like the ps3xploit team that try to prevent you from damaging your console, despite your intentions.

If there is one thing we learned from this is that people don't read crap! We have taken every precaution we could think of to eliminate problems.

It doesn't matter how many warnings we put anywhere, some will always have some issue.

Installing CCAPI is only a softbrick, which sucks, but all things considered, it is a recoverable user error.

Not much really. I guess in theory with some kind of hardware flasher you could try to wipe the exact bit that needs wiping. Tricky though.

You could also try putting a HDD into the console, I'm not sure if it will work, there is a slight chance this will allow you to install HFW again, I do not know if a 12GB superslim stores vflash on HDD like NOR consoles when there is a HDD installed.

Moral of the story is to read release notes more thoroughly.

Note that I cant boot to safe mode. Any possible fixes??

But, when I inserted a destroyed blank hdd on my ps3, the hdd led was flashing all the time, but without the hdd the led was flashing for 1 second..but no result... (Sorry for the repeatedly 'but')
