I recently upgraded from a HDD to a 1TB BX500 SSD and I gotta say..... I have some weird problems.
Lets start from the beginning.
1. I copied my files over to another PS3 using the Data Transfer Utility.
2. I installed the new SSD into the PS3, installed OFW and proceeded to then install 4.90 CFW.
3. I recopied the files onto the PS3. (it took significantly longer than with HDDs)
4. After it finished copying, the XMB felt weird. Everything was sluggish, it was lagging almost coming to a halt.
5. I ran a File System Check.... weird thing is... it seemed fine after that. I played some digital games and everything worked fine.
2 months later I copied my games from my Laptop to my PS3 using FileZilla and an Ethernet Cable.
The transfer was going fine until it just wouldn't copy over 3MB/s. Before with the HDD I got 20 - 30 MB/s constantly. After restarting, it did the same thing it did before. It would just lag and not "feel nice" in general.
Today I turned it on and it took 2 minutes to even show the Coldboot. The HDD LED was contanstly on.
Now my question, is it something with the SSD used in the PS3 or is there generally an issue regarding SSDs in the PS3? (I know about the fact that the PS3 cannot utilize the full SSD Speeds)
