So recently my ps3s blur ray drive ribbon ripped. The same day I installed a nobd drive cfw thinking it was going to fix it. I was on rebug d rex 4.82 before the cfw was installed. I installed a user created cfw which was 4.82.2 d rex rebug which lead me to a system update loop. I can't enter safe mode or recovery mode which sucks is there anyway to save my ps3? I'm also getting error
8002f14e.

try a nobd version of the update pup. @bitsbubba has made several. or, you can create your own with mfw. with that, it's very easy to do. just make sure to select only the nobd patch. :)

nm...I skipped over the part where you tried a nobd cfw. are you sure the bt works? also, you might try a nobd downgrader. I think that sometimes works. if you can't get into the recovery menu, I'm not sure what to suggest.

Next time I'll create my owm mfw of rebug. From what I heard you can switch hard drives to boot up to recovery which i tried I also tried installing a copy of the new rebug but it gives me a error saying the .PUP is corrupted. I'll link the article in case you don't understand.

Also can you link the nobd ddowngrader I'll try that ASAP and the blu ray drive worked perfectly I also connected the power cable before i reassembled it.

you can create a nobd firmware by using an already created cfw pup, then adding that patch in mfw. make sure you point to the keys in settings or you'll get an error.

rogero and I think habib have normal downgraders, so use one of them as a base. I can't guarantee this will work. I think this update loop is a common problem with broken bd drives though. if yours is working or you think that it is, I don't believe installing nobd firmwares will hurt the system. I believe bits has a working bd drive, but he tests each of his nobd builds. he doesn't use mfw either, but rather creates the pup manually.

someone else may know how to get out of this update loop, but it's a common problem. I just can't say for sure how to correct it, but I think the above sometimes works if the syscon is messed up.

Thanks for the information im going try the downgrading right now. I'll keep you updated on what happens wish me luck.
I also was reading some posts and it does seems nobd have this common issue which sucks but what can you do about it.

I thought it had something to do with the hard drive also? I know there are some threads on here where similiar issues where fixed by i wany to say a format in a pc? I am a bit hazy though and dont want you to eff it up more. I think it only works on nor bc of how the flash is stored on hard disk. Make a fresh nobd pup file. Format the hard drive in a pc, when it asks for update after reinstall feed it the nobd. Anyone else think this is right? @kozarovv ? @bitsbubba ?

last time I tried making a noBD pup with MFW Builder it didn't work, I think the patch is flawed as to why I have always applied the patches manually

so the update went through by reinserting the original hdd. how large were both hdds?

The one that is stuck in a system loop is 320gb Seagate, I switched the Seagate one for a 80gb hard drive when I installed the 80gb i was able to go into the recovery menu i tried applying the patch and it kept giving me "the data is corrputed" or sometimes it couldn't find the system update .PUP

Iwas reading a thread similar to my problem and it seems it would probably work. The thing is that I don't want to loose all my games on my 320gb hard drive but if I have toit's for the better.

If you are able to access recovery from a different drive install a nobd firmware from there. Just use a cfw like ferrox or habib. You can then install rebug or whatever else after that.

Sadly it didn't go through it told me no application update data was found
