Ps3 stuck on system update loop

Sadly it didn't go through it told me no application update data was found
1. If you were in DEX mode, only DEX fw pups will install. You cannot use a patched CFW other than D-REX, a CEX pup will probably not even be detected.
2. I do not use mfw builder as I prefer to apply patches manually nowadays (back to old school ways I guess lol) but iirc any problem with mfwbuilder on 4.8x pup files could also be key related. littlebalup corrected the wrong entries in the keys some months ago, you need to get his fixed version of the keys to get all mfw builder features working correctly on 4.82 fw. bitsbubba mentions possible errors in the noBD script, it is possible although I am pretty sure it worked fine when I used it years ago. To be confirmed.
3. In some cases, recovery mode fails to install 4.8x Rebug PUPs.
4. You might want to try installing a 3.55 DEX downgrader PUP or better yet, if your console is QA enabled, a Rebug 4.46 D-REX noBD PUP, then upgrade to Rebug 4.82 D-REX noBD from XMB.
The 3.55 DEX downgrader might already bypass the BD checks by default, I am not 100% sure though, you need to check.
5. @Joonie Any thoughts or better ideas? When in doubt, always refer to a CFW Jedi master! LOL

I got something going so I checked the newest d rex and my ps3 detects it so that's some good news so now that you say downgrade then install the newest d rex or nonbd firmware.
And may the force be with you

What I am saying is IF
1. your console is in DEX mode.
2. QA is already enabled
3. you currently cannot install Rebug 4.82 D-REX noBD in recovery because it fails with an error message.

It could be because of that possible issue with latest Rebug CFW in recovery mode.

In this particular case, you should still be able to install Rebug D-REX 4.46 noBD. And if it works, boot to XMB & install Rebug D-REX 4.82 noBD.

The alternative, if QA is not enabled, is a 3.55 DEX downgrader that works with noBD.

Ohhh I get you I'll try that

I am using Rebug D-REX 4.46 as an example in my previous posts because it was a milestone that works fine but you could use another version patched for noBD if you have one, as long as it is an older version. I assume 4.4x, 4.5x, 4.6x would all be fine.

Got ya I'll keep you updated
