Flashed my PS3 for the first time yesterday.
Then realised I forgot to replace the hard drive and just
But during the hard drive replacement I seemed to have lost jailbreak.
Just reflashing the NOR now but presume I chose the wrong system restore option. I'm a little nervous as am seeing some freezes when in the browser and the exploit is failing first time (I've cleared cache etc/ changed homepage etc)
Can anyone link to an explanation of the system restore menu in HFW please?
e.g.
Does HFW/ rebug replace the system restore menu. Or is this all Sony OFW.
So can you restore the system to OFW from here once flashed to HFW/ Rebug?
On what hardwear does the system restore reside?
Shouldn't the hex NOR flash have been persistent?
What should I have chosen when replacing the harddrive, assuming I didn't want to back anything up from the old system?
Apologies for asking but very new to all this and trying to sift through a lot of information/ learn as quickly as I can and just want to check I understand what I'm doing before I brick it.
As an aside, after formatting a new 1Tb drive I'm seeing only 828/931Gb free, is this normal, I've read it's reserved for system updates in OFW but can you reclaim that in HFW somehow?
