Has anyone ever managed to get a PS3 with this fault code working?

Me and a bunch of other people have. You most likely need to pull the two nand TSOP48 chips. Then dump the nand and patch it. In my case I used the 3.55 fsm patch. After that you resolder to the board. Use a teensy as a special jig to get into fsm mode and then update to 3.55.

Nice. Unfortunately this is way over my head. I'll probably pass mine on to some one with some skill.
