Hello everyone, i recently got a PS3 Slim from a friend, the last time he used it was working, but now every time i turn it on, the initial sound can be heard, but a only a black screen shows. I tried cleaning it, took everything apart, but still nothing, tried to change the input mode but it still shows the black screen, tried with HDMI and the AV cable too, with three different tvs. The only way that shows me image, it's in recovery mode, but it doesn't matter which option i choose, when the PS3 reboots, it still shows no image at all.
Already tried restarting system, restore default settings, system update, restore ps3 system, but none of them worked, i could update it normally, could see the percentage and everything, the when it started again, still black screen.
Tried Rebuilding database and froze with an X on the screen, like when you're asked something and you have to press X to continue, but no message on the screen.
After that, i had to restart the console, and everytime i chose something on recovery mode, it just froze with that X on screen, so i decided to replace the hard drive, i had the update screen, downloaded the last update and everything.
When the update ended and the system restarted, the damn black screen appeared again, idk what i can do now, tried everything.
The restore ps3 system rebooted my ps3, and a sony logo appeared very lightly on the screen, and when i press buttons, i can hear the sound when you move between the xmb menu, but that sony logo it's still on the screen.

probably a hardware issue. but you can try doing the video reset thing, it's the same thing as entering recovery but instead of hearing the 3 beeps the second time let go the power button when you hear the first one

When it only displays in low resolution mode its usually the RSX.
damn, so it's not something i can fix? can i make it run in low resolution somehow? video reset doesn't work

When it only displays in low resolution mode its usually the RSX.
also, i runned syscon but it doesn't give me any errors, just red light flashing, so i can't diagnose a hardware problem

if you want to be 100% sure you need to use UART, but it also could be the tokins. check all of them on both sides of the board

i'm sorry, i'm not that good with components and stuff, what is UART or tokins?

What happens if you connect an AV cable and do a video reset?
nothing, av cable works in safe mode, so does hdmi, but nothing happens if i do video reset in any of the two options

Does the DualShock 3 sync?
Does the optical digital output light up?
If the DualShock syncs, the optical digital output doesn't light up, and you can still turn off the PS3 normally when you press/touch the power button, it's almost certain that there's a problem with the audio/video power supply.
I've had a case like this with a fat PS3 and it was due to a component that was removed by the previous owner.

Check if there is voltage in the AV Multi port, HDMI and optical digital output, if there is no voltage, then look for the component responsible for the missing voltage.
