I want to repair the YLOD on my C04 PHAT PS3, but i live in Albania where i can't find a lot of the tools needed for a YLOD repair, like a new RSX or a SYSCON reader, so is there any cheap tools i could use to fix my PS3 without the oven, tantalum or the towel method? i don't want to order anything from overseas either as that costs a lot of money for both shipping and the product itself.

nevermind, i think i found the issue.....

is it supposed to look like that?

sorry i think not. you need the usb to serial adapter (FT232 probably) to get started with syscon error log. blindly fixing the issue won't help. and YLOD means there's hardware issue and most of the time component replacement is required.

if you do not have skills to solder the wires to the Syscon pads, you can grab some thick single core wire (i used cat6 wires) can shape it into spider leg alike and attach to the pad using cloth pegs. you can google image of sd card spider reader. it looks something like that. i have done this once but i forgot to take picture. sorry.

then attach other end of wire into the breadboard with the adapter attached.
