PS3HEN PS3HEN - Official Release Thread (Homebrew Enabler for the PS3) v3.5.0 (4.93 support)

my mistake, i meant NOBT/NOWI-FI only.
NOBD of course is a big problem only fixeable via cfw. sorry.

here's one mod for that. https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/UPL.xml

the upl.xml says what packages to install (including bd and bt), but you still need patches that can't be pulled off without the appropriate keys. the upl.xml is the only nonencrypted file for that patch. you have to erase the installation string with that file.

Convinced. But is there something that can be fixed in sysconf_plugin.rco to reduce the time it takes to display text about epilepsy?
I dont remember to see any mention in the rco files, but im taking a look at sysconf_plugin.rco and i really think there is nothing in it related

I cant give a solid argument why im saying this, but if you want to take a look for curiosity sake, open the xml generated by rcomage from sysconf_plugin.rco and do this:
In notepad++ tab: [View] -> [Collapse level] -> 4

All the pages are the menus you can see in XMB settings column, the only special pages are the first 2 pages and the last 4 or 5 (are general, used by lot of menus)
The point is none of them is related with the epilepsy warning screen
Not that I know of.
I bet here should be a good way :D
Actually, in one of the versions of the PS4 coldboot i made with @Danxx444 there was a black screen fuly opaque that was covering everything until the point when you select the user (because Danxx444 didnt had the user autologin enabled)
It was a mistake but im wondering if it was covering the epilepsy warning screen

Also, inside custom_render_plugin.rco there is a page named "blur"... that blur effect is exactly what can be seen behind the epilepsy texts... not sure if is the same, and not sure what could happen incase of modifying it though

im not saying a hen for nobd/bt cause we dont need that, but a hen for some OFWs could be possible i guess... no need to install any fw and every console could get some love.

It would be a good idea and it would work fine in the case of consoles having a BT problem. As those consoles are still usable on their current FW. So instead of a user having to update FW to 4.84+ for HEN they could just stay on the old FW they are on .

The issue is that if your console has a NoBD issue, you can't boot applications. So even if you get HEN installed on your system you still have that issue. You have only bypassed one issue and that is the update loop if BD FW pkg cant install.

So yeah, maybe viable for noBT users, but porting hen to all older FWs would be a lot of work. Not sure who is going to do it.

BTW: It's worth noting that you simply need ANY BD drive attached to get out of an update loop caused by BD drive missing/faulty. It does NOT need to be married to the console. So if you are stuck in one of these loops. You can try get another drive even on loan and it would allow you to update.

Remarrying is only required for booting apps. So once out of the update loop you could still use the PS3 for its web browser, photos, videos, music.

There could be a way.. I had not thought of that way as the epilepsy warning seemed not to be handled by custom render plugin.

Not sure if its the same blur effect as the epilepsy warning but I guess it is, anyway the blur effect on the XMB when you enter any sub folder is done by rhm.qrc, You can see on debug output that file is accessed all the time when entering any folder and I have tested patching it out of an sprx and then you get no blur. Can not remember which sprx I did it in though. :)

Maybe something can be done in lines qrc with a redirect? Not looked into it at all but if these overrides are related to the epilepsy warning then maybe they can be broken somehow to make it skip the warning.

Complete noob here, which is probably why I cannot find a solid answer anywhere. Once I install the latest 3.0 version of HEN as directed (installing 4.85 hfw, installing HEN through the website, etc.), can I enable HEN offline or do I need to do something extra to be able to enable HEN offline? Thanks in advance for the help!

Another idea. As we all know, temporary files, cookies, clog up the browser and HEN may take longer to work. Maybe it's worth adding to the hen the removal of these things?

Or make javascript for this thing ...

Once HEN is installed, no need for internet to enable HEN.

I hope this new hen update does not hang because it has happened to several console models. He had the error of hablibiting the hen

I don't know if this happened to others but since I passed from HEN 2.2.2 to the new ones (2.3.x, 2.4.x and 3.0.0) I have to sing in on my PSN account and then sing out or enter to a game and then quit it so I can start the HEN properly... if I don't do that it fails to initiate HEN and reboot the console, no matter how many times I do it without doing the past process, It always FAIL (if you are asking yeah I delete cookies, cache, all that, but as I say it doesn't work at all)
