Seeing you have a 2504 slim, you may as well just use cfw honestly. But I am curious what your issue is. You can try using debug mode (from hfw tools -> development -> switch mode) and getting a socat log to see where its crashing.

Could be a hard drive issue, or even overheating, etc. Would need more info.

And as Aldo said, if you are on 4.92, 3.4.0 is your only option for hen.

Edit: you can technically recompile any version from source to use newer firmware, but you are on your own with that, because so many things have changed over the years, it is unsupported to do so. It is open source after all.

I know HEN was tested on DEX but what about DECR? Like either 1400a or 1000a out of curiosity of course.
 
PS3HEN 3.4.1 has been released!

If you have Auto Updates turned on, then HEN will automatically update the next time its enabled. If not, use whatever other method of your choosing to update. The ps3xploit.me site has been updated.

I know. Fell asleep last night before I got zips done lol. Links will be good for those soon. The installer pkgs are all online and html updated.

Edit: The cloudflare caching might be messing with it. That zip is valid now and Developer zip I just uploaded, and both show 404. If it doesnt resolve itself soon, ill check into it further. The https shouldnt matter, but even http shows 404 right now.

Good morning, I previously had a problem with HEN, or perhaps it's not HEN itself. It keeps freezing in the same way, I don't know how to explain it, maybe like this:
1. I activate HEN
2. I check the information for any installed game (in the XMB, to see the size) up to 3 games
3. On the fourth game, the entire console always freezes (it doesn't matter which games they are, I tried many)
The strange thing is that it doesn't happen with HEN disabled. I had HFW 4.92 - HEN 3.0.0, now with HFW 4.93 and HEN 3.5.0 it still happens
My console:
PS3 Super Slim - 750GB - HFW 4.93 - HEN 3.5.0 - Activated for games - everything works perfectly

Can you try it in debug mode and capture log?

Hi, sorry for the delay, I finally found the time to do the work.
After following all the steps and capturing the log in HEN debug mode, surprisingly, it didn't freeze. I repeated the process where it was freezing (checking game information in the XMB) and it didn't freeze at any point, which is very strange. And now, in normal user mode of HEN, it no longer freezes.

The only thing that didn't work for you was changing the coldboot (I usually change it manually to the original PS3 version). I'm going to change it and see what happens.

My first thought is bad sectors on hard drive. When you activate different modes, it copies 4 files from hdd to flash. Now that I just typed that, I feel like that's not as likely lol.

Debug mode doesn't change any functionality. It just enables DPRINTF statements to be logged over udp.

Hard to say at this point.

Edit: The socat log looks normal.

Thanks, I also think it's the hard drive (I bought it used, but it works better with games compared to the original)... thanks. I used to use WebMan mod... I haven't installed it since I updated to HEN 3.5.0. Could that be the cause? I'll find out for myself. Thanks again.

Tried rebuilding Database from safe mode? Maybe it's just some corruption in the XMB

Hi, I discovered the "source of the problem," here's what happened:
The problem is caused by the external hard drive. I have a 1TB hard drive in USB001 and I have several games on it (they don't cause any problems). The culprit is located in the "exdata" folder where I have several .rap and .edat game files.
I moved the "exdata" folder to another directory, for example, inside a "new folder," then I tested the PS3 and surprise, it didn't freeze...

Thats good news, but a bit troubling. Would be curious if this happens on CFW.

It would probably be worth testing this internally to see if we can replicate the freezing issue.
