If allowed by the adm, I would accept it. Bought a ps3 to install cfw, the seller said it was new, let's see it when CFW is back
Keep in mind that we are talking only about the ps3xploit.me domain itself, which currently doesn't contain BGToolset. If you want to install PS3HEN at this moment, you can use https://ps3addict.github.io/alternate/ directly (ps3xploit.me redirects to this site).

At this moment, yes. But there are other tools in the works that do the same thing as BGToolset using the HFW firmware, which can be installed normally on OFW. As a matter of fact, I'm helping lmn7 to get his flasher working right now.
Oh, very nice. If possible, I would ask you some help as well. I'll be at home on Monday (I made appendectomy and I'm still recovering), the ps3 I bought still has factory firmware.

I have been here for some time and I just got a new PS3 from a family member in 2020. Tried using @Coro 's method, only to run the enable HEN.pkg to a DNS error.
@Coro is this going to be fixed with a new PKG we can download?
Thanks
Hello! Im having the same prob and I tried to use a hotspot and did not work.

+ I think I know you irl

Kind regards!

please I'm new here and just got ps3 with model CECH21*** and firmware 4.89. I used MinVerChk and the firmware was 3.56. Can I jailbreak it with CFW 4.89 without using HFW and also ps3xploit.me or .com or .net. Please can I do so without connecting my ps3 to the internet and will I need a downgrade and a flasher to complete everything

If the minimum version is 3.56 then it does support CFW, however since bgtoolset is down, currently there is no safe way of installing CFW on consoles running 4.89 (unless already on CFW). If you see links to some clone websites, please mind that they sometimes work, sometimes don't, and sometimes they brick your console completely - and you won't be able to tell what's gonna happen before it's too late.
You should use HEN until bgtoolset returns or another safe way of flashing becomes available (which will happen but no ETA). You need to use HFW to install HEN but you don't need to be online to install it - just download HFW 4.89 from the forum and install it using a USB disk. Installing HEN itself is generally done through an online site, and even though ps3xploit is currently down, there's an official mirror on github, which is online. Note that connecting your PS3 to the Internet does not mean you need to log-in to PSN, so there's no risk of getting banned. If for whatever reason you cannot connect your PS3 to the Internet at all, there is a self-hosted version of HEN installer available for download. It's a little more difficult to use though, since you will need to install a web server on your local PC to host it.

I have a FAT32 USB drive formatted, I created a folder (PS3)and inside the ps3 folder I created another folder (GAMES). is this the right way to make a folder to access a game on ps3 HEN, if not kindly help me.

You need to create a folder named PS3, inside it create another folder named UPDATE and put the HFW file there, rename it to PS3UPDAT.PUP if needed. The file name, as well as directory names, must be all caps. Then install the HFW like any other firmware update.
After you're on HFW you'll need to open the browser and go to the HEN installer URL. After the initial installation you'll have a new menu item in XMB called "Enable HEN", as well as a pkg installer.
All of the above has to be done only once, however you'll need to click the "Enable HEN" icon after each restart. When you select it you'll see a small message indicating that HEN is now enabled (there's a small chance that it may crash, in which case just restart the console and try again). After HEN is enabled you can install and run homebrew.
To install pkg just put the pkg file in the root directory of a FAT32-formatted USB disk and use the pkg installer to install it. It'll appear in XMB like a digitally-purchased game. While this works for most homebrew, you cannot install games larger than 4GB that way due to file size restrictions of the FAT32 file system.
When you first install HEN you should immediately install multiMAN and webMAN MOD (restart your console and re-enable HEN after you install it).
To copy a game from an original disc to the PS3's internal HDD launch multiMAN, then insert the disc, go to the games tab and click refresh (the first option). Your new game should appear. Highlight it, then press triangle and select either copy (if you want it in a JB folder format) or create ISO (if you want it as a single ISO file). Copying can take a few minutes to over an hour, depending on the game size. After it's done copying it you can eject the disc.

Hello sir. I am on 4.81 OFW. How I can install CFW. Looked almost all guides both on here and rest of the internet and confused. Can you write one by one just regarding the steps. I mean gotta jailbreak it first right? Using bgtoolset? But it is not avaible at the moment.

Good morning, please I'm done using the HFW and HEN. I've installed multiman and webman mod. My problem is, when I open web man mod, I can't find other folders like ps3 folder, ps2 folder....I only see the webman logo which is web game settings. Please how I fix that.
