@andoryuu3 Removing the cobra ode isn't always necessary (If you at least stayed on 4.66 you can resign games with no updates or where updates require >4.66, the rest can use the CFW2OFW method that PS3Xploit also uses).
The latest ode firmware that only ensured that you could play games with an update was horrible I agree, but the 2.0 one would have let you update which would have made the ode useless but it would have, so no need to buy new capacitors imo.
I noticed lag in PS1 games with PT mode though, so if your into that, maybe it's worth it, but at the same time, why have an ode when you don't play the games it is mostly used for?
If you are <=4.66 you can play game that don't have an update and PS3Xploit doesn't allow this at the moment, so he would lose the ability to play many great games.
Like people telling others to sell their gateway, it has benefits, mainly cheats and private headers that won't get you banned for playing online.
(Maybe GW is a bad example because otherwise it's bad nowadays but still)
@KILLER_SEVEN It'd be awesome if you could test it, probably the BD*.self files are of interest and maybe the vsh.self with the adjustments that esc0rtd3w mentioned.
When I launch a game off the HDD the ODE also picks up that startup so maybe some checks are also in the vsh.self with it running in the background and stuff.
It would be so funny if it worked, just like the memset on 3DS
