If this evolves I may update my 1.76 system as it seems so bare ATM but luckily I have two systems as I can't lose PSN like I did with the PS3. GREAT news and progress.

the webkit exploit could lead to a backup loader. that's how the wii-u hack works. both rely on exploits with the web manager of the system. could be the new way to hack a system.

You could be right as it seems easier to find usable webkit exploits than kernel exploits nowadays.
In any case, a working exploit in 3.50 would mean access to Linux for most PS4 users, to begin with. It's another step forward. I know I have been waiting for this since CTurt/f0f's Xmas news to avoid buying yet another ps4 on lower fw.

And in the future a backup loader...? Most likely...

I would not get your hopes up on a 3.50 webkit exploit. Its simply talk and claims to this point . Which usually when some brags about something. Its usually means they do not have the goods . Until ACTUAL proof is presented its useless claims

the wii-u was thought to be unhackable on 5.5.0/1, but the hack was leaked a few weeks ago. I bought a 5.3.2 system that I spoofed to 5.5.1 to play all games which was/is unnecessary if u delete the system partition (i.e. system update). the same may be true of the ps4. though, I'm not sure how stable it is which might be comparable to the ps4 (i.e. the 3.50 hack may not be as reliable). that's y I posted that query about trying shin megami tensei x fire emblem game. my friend is using the 5.5.1 hack, but I'm using the 5.3.2 hack spoofed to 5.5.1. the game doesn't work for him, but it does for me. I've not tried the 5.5.1 hack, but it utilizes the same methodology via the web kit exploit. I only use the wii-u as a comparison since it's using the same flaw as the ps4.
 
you know that it's not the webkit exploit alone, the dlclose kernel exploit was implemented in the playground to load the linux kernel image for example. the wk exploit is only the entry point to the system, if there is no code for an entry point on 3.50, the playground won't work. maybe someone find another bug in the webkit source or something is already in progress, but I don't think so because sony has patched the wk bug how we know, so if it would be possible via such crashes it could work on 3.50 I think, but I don't know.

Your site features the custom 1.76 playground with no modifications so it's nothing new really. Isn't it?

How is that a demo for 3.50? Am I missing something?

PS4 Got Release for update 3.55, i'm tired to updated it, because i want to playing a bo3 zombie online or assassins creed unity :/ I'll never bought to that ps4 1.76 console for exploit.
 
does this exploit work with 3.55? I only sign in to psn on my ps4 to download new ps+ games, so I'd like to know before doing so. thanks!

Like @eXtreme said before, even with proof that there's a working wk exploit for 3.5x, a webkit exploit alone would not be enough. You would also need some kernel exploit for privileges escalation. I don't think the dlclose exploit can work with fw > 2.xx..
ATM if you currently have a 1.76 console, or even a 2.xx, I would still wait before updating anything...

It is an entry point which is one or two parts. 3.55 this is confirmed blocked already, you need to decide if PSN is worth a potential exploit. I have a 1.76 system and TBH it is totally lackluster. Linux isn't the best thing since sliced bread for the PS4. It is under powered and even Steam needs some more "steam" before it is worthwhile. Takes a lot of patience and the only reason I did this was for PKG installer access for the P.T. demo which BTW the PKG installer is one of the dev tools that isn't working yet.
