PS4 PS4 BNIB, OFW 5.50 - straight to 9.00?

Hi Team

Just been given a BNIB (seriously, 0 hours on the HDD) PS4 (CUH-2202A) and it on firmware 5.50. Should I bother with any of the 6.72, 7.02 or 7.55 firmwares, or should I just go straight to 9.00 and just run HEN?

TIA.

So it's generally accepted if there is a persistent hack it is most likely going to be 5.05 first as Sony didn't use ASLR in this firmware. Now this requires backporting games and not all work due to firmware changes. 6.72 has been made very stable nowadays. Haven't had any hands on with the 7.xx hacks but I have 9.00 myself. You have to use a USB key or some hardware to auto boot but it is for sure the easiest maintenance wise. Only had to back port 2-3 games to get them working. Whereas 5.05 would be nearly all my games.

Thanks for the quick reply.
6.72 looks like it's worth investigating, otherwise I still have 9.00 to fall back on.
Time to install that 1TB SSD whilst waiting for the 2TB to turn up...

I was on 6.72 but I am now on 9.00 as it's matured nowadays. I use an ESP8266 so it boots instantly and prefer this as backporting sucks.

Just an update, after messing about with AliExpress and getting a WEMOS D1 Mini Pro, updating to 9.00 and then fighting with Adunio.CC and Arduino IDE I now have a ESP8266 webserver and am currently dumping my first game (FIFA15) to SSD.

Thanks atreyu187 for pointing me in the right direction.
