PS4 Ps4 Longevity Mods. What are my options?

Easy now, peoples.

Some may know I recently purchased a used Ps4 Pro. It was new from May of this year and was only used to play 2 games (exclusives my friend wanted to play) so she hasn't had much action and therefore in reasonable shape in terms of any issues.

Now, considering the Ps3 was plagued with issues that have gradually shown their ugly heads over time, I'd like to future-proof my Ps4 Pro so that she stays alive as long as possible.
I'm pretty good with hardware mods and think I could pull off a hardware fan controller. But I was wondering...

What sort of solid data is known about the Ps4s faults? Like, real data. Not someone's "I did it so it must work" anecdotal evidence. To really get the absolute best longevity out of her, what are people recommendations?

If it was old model like 3-4 years old. I would've advised you to change thermal paste and RAM thermal pads. The thermal pads given by Sony are small & pretty average.

Since its a new model, you don't need to do anything right now. Just use it nicely. Keep it in well ventilated place. Some people always keep their PS4 on low power mode. I wouldn't recommend it keeping constantly powered on. There's not much you need to do right now.

If you are worried about temperature and want to solve it in a strike and definitivelly i suggest to check in ebay in a shop named circuit5urgeon
And buy one of the PS4 fan accelerators of green color

It works by "boosting" a bit the fan speed based in the signal sent by the motherboard to the fan
Lets say... the device is located in between the motherboard and the fan, it "intercepts" the fan speed signal and "boosts" it a bit (in a amount you can configure with the rotational switch)
This way the fan speed is still dinamycally controlled by the motherboard but the resulting speeds are always a bit higher than the signal sent by the motherboard
I bought one for the PS3 that works exactly in the same way btw

...or wait for this project to mature a bit... is the same concept, but made at home for cheap :)

The basics like console placement and ventilation are all good. The idea here is to not have to deal with any problems down the road by introducing preventative measures now.

To be honest, £15 for the fan controller mod is not too sad. And its relatively plug and play bar the console disassembly. Would something as simple as a fan boost really increase the consoles lifespan?

I was watching some videos and saw a totally fan-less Ps4 enclosure made from wood and stone and had a huge heatsink... Looks very pretty, looks very expensive and amazing craftsmanship. But I'd imagine that's far beyond my skillset.

The seller is from UK, probably will be low shiping costs, or maybe you could find if there is a physical shop to buy it directly
The price is fine, when i bought mine for PS3 it was like 20 or so, but i bought it years ago, was not much popular and i guess i was paying a bit more for the exclusivillity of buying a rare product
Now it seems he have sold thousands, lol (the green are the good ones, the others in diferent colors are meh)

Is mostly a failproof way to be sure the console is not going to overheat ever... just plug-and-play and forget about thermal problems forever
If at some point the console overheats the fan speed is going to increase (because the motherboard tells it), and the accelerometer is going to increase that speed even more, and for sure you are going to notice by the noise level the console is in problems
In some way is like an alarm... you only need to worry about temperatures incase the alarm is triggered, but probably is not going to happen ever.... so no need to worry, just enjoy playing and forget about temperatures :)
