The PSBBN Neutrino update is finally here! Good new for everyone who was having issues with OPL.

ran into this earlier. my install just lacked python3-virtualenv. but just reported that while the POPS -128MB bug was fixed now this is occuring for OPLI've had that issue myself a couple of times myself and still haven't been able to figure out the reason why. Running the game installer script a second time seems to always work.

I just want everyone who is interested in this topic to know, that this evolves very fast and @CosmicScale DOES get help from multiple other people to accomplish his goals.
Thank you for this list!![]()
It wasn't meant like you "taking credit for the work of others", but that multiple of us literally support you with ideas and updates to projects that you use for your project! The credits have been on the GitHub since day 1.
New video:
- SAS support - Install apps downloaded from the Save Application System Apps Archive
- Installing HDD-OSD & Browser 2.0
- HDD-OSD Icon Database
- Installing PlayStation 2 Basic Boot Loader (PS2BBL)
- Translating PSBBN with the PSBBN Translation Pack
- Guide for Windows users - Installing PSBBN using the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL)
I consider that a "feature request", so that the user does not need to manually convert the bin-cue to ISOs.I couldn't install CD PS2 games (bin cue). Game installer script ignores them. When I convert bin to iso and put in CD folder it is installed, but can't be launched
From PS-CD/actual disc? That's to be expected! AFAIR it reboots into PS.BBN, if you just open the drive! When I launched an original PS1 game from different region, I get red screen as not allowed. Although as expected, I can't go away from this screen and have to reboot PS2.
You can start the Web-browser and get more Linux apps! It already points to an archive, opens it and you can download PS2 Linux apps there and install them!Awesome I can use ps2 linux! First time I ever saw it live in action
Wired or wireless connection? Did only the download stuck, or the whole menu? If the menu stuck, did it freeze and if a sound played, did it repeat a short segment (could be 0.1seconds) over and over?I downloaded a video from (I believe) Konami channel but it got stuck at about ~40%. Had to reboot
@CosmicScale is actually working on that part of the script because he also wants to add support to "add" games, instead of syncing them. I am quite sure that the opposite/selective removal is quite possible as well and I would like that as well! This feature update (more flexibility in regard to game management) is VERY much requested by multiple/many people! It would be nice if deletion of absent games in games folder would be optional.
Various! Also keep in mind that the first boot AND first scrolling through apps and games is quite slow. It's fine after everything has been cached!Booting up is a little slow. It takes about 20-30 seconds. Is this normal or could my 2tb ssd play a role? I have a working internet connection. Also I was wondering what accounts for the loading time at the moment? Initialization? HDD size? etc. just curious
It DOES! I am not sure if it does the additional checks though. Technically they can be circumvented via PS.BBN for sure!Does this work together with MechaPwn? So could I launch different region/backups from PSBBN after installing MechaPwn?
Yes! Create them in the OPL interface and set the settings! Is it possible to create VMC's?
??? Please elaborate! Will it be possible to load PS1 games with DKWDRV at one point?
I can't comment on these.I'd like to try to add some movies. Where do they go and what formats are allowed? Also is it possible to watch DVD iso's?
- Same for audio, what is allowed? What is the best documentation to find all this out
Because OPL and NTR (Neutrino) not supporting 2352 sector size images, so there is no reason to allows putting them on disk.I couldn't install CD PS2 games (bin cue). Game installer script ignores them.
Should be launched. ^^"When I convert bin to iso and put in CD folder it is installed, but can't be launched
PSBBN is a Linux itself.Awesome I can use ps2 linux! First time I ever saw it live in action
PS2 is to weak platform for Linux, HDD is to slow for such many files seeking (better experience on SSD).Booting up is a little slow. It takes about 20-30 seconds. Is this normal or could my 2tb ssd play a role?
PSBBN DEP have nothing to do with MP. Each one doesn't know about each other. So called master discs should working.Does this work together with MechaPwn? So could I launch different region/backups from PSBBN after installing MechaPwn?
In OPL or on PC.Is it possible to create VMC's?
Probably via NTR but no launcher was made for that functionality AFAIK.Also is it possible to watch DVD iso's?
CDDASame for audio, what is allowed?

only the download iirc. I could get back to the menu I believeWired or wireless connection? Did only the download stuck, or the whole menu? If the menu stuck, did it freeze and if a sound played, did it repeat a short segment (could be 0.1seconds) over and over?
Great, will be a nice feature indeed@CosmicScale is actually working on that part of the script because he also wants to add support to "add" games, instead of syncing them. This feature update (more flexibility in regard to game management) is VERY much requested by multiple/many people!
I use a Crucial MX 500 2TB. I haven't really noticed the second time being much faster, but I haven't really paid attention to the differenceVarious! Also keep in mind that the first boot AND first scrolling through apps and games is quite slow. It's fine after everything has been cached!
I ought to remember that boot time can be get down to 12/13 - 16 seconds via some means. Which SSD do you use with it? Please don't tell me WD. I also heard of issues with Kingston.
That's really great. If PSBBN could do it itself without MechaPwn, that of course would even be betterIt DOES! I am not sure if it does the additional checks though. Technically they can be circumvented via PS.BBN for sure!
I see. Indeed I use Neutrino in my PSBBN setup, but will also add OPL for this feature thenYes! Create them in the OPL interface and set the settings!
Neutrino does not support VMCs AFAIR.
Yes that's what I meant. I think it would be cool if you can choose whether you want to run PS1 games with Popstarter OR DKWDRV. I know the latter is only really an option for slims (with USB at least), but still would be nice.??? Please elaborate!
DKWDRV can already load PS1-games...
You mean that PS.BBN launches PS1-games "through" DKWDRV?
Maybe, but that depends on DKWDRV!
I see. As said if auto conversion by the script is possible that would be neat. Similar to PFS Batchkit does it (you can just place bin/cue PS2 games in CD folder and the script does the restBecause OPL and NTR (Neutrino) not supporting 2352 sector size images, so there is no reason to allows putting them on disk.
Hm okay will look into itShould be launched. ^^"
Lol didn't know. Cool though. How about XMB, is that also linux in the core?PSBBN is a Linux itself.![]()
That explainsPS2 is to weak platform for Linux, HDD is to slow for such many files seeking (better experience on SSD).
Ok good to know alsoPSBBN DEP have nothing to do with MP. Each one doesn't know about each other. So called master discs should working.
Cool. Don't know if Neutrino is still being actively developed, but would a nice feature to have there as wellIn OPL or on PC.
What does NTR stand for? I think this feature would be really awesome. Of course SMS media player is nice, but just running a DVD iso 1:1 on PS2 saves a lot of hassle and allows also to have the original DVD menu and extra's. It would also becomy my main dvd/cd player in my entertainment setup.Probably via NTR but no launcher was made for that functionality AFAIK.
Cool, will give that a try thanksCDDA
XMB is component called vsh. And no, since PS3, operating systems used on their consoles are NetBSD or FreeBSD.Lol didn't know. Cool though. How about XMB, is that also linux in the core?
Not official abbreviation but because I'm lazy, I shortening Neutrino to NTR. ;pWhat does NTR stand for?
Currently, there are no versions of wLaunchELF that can access an exFAT partition on an internal drive. Hopefully, this will change in the future. For now, the only way to manage those files is from your PC.I have a small question and I'm not sure if this is the right place. wLaunchELF that is installed, cannot access the exfat partition, correct?
