PS3 PSNPatch 4.70.02 - Auto Boot Plugins On Non Cobra CFW

Developer KW is back with another update to PSNPatch. In version 4.70.02 you now have the ability to auto boot plugins on non Cobra custom firmware, a great feature indeed. Touching base with the addition of PSN blocking introduced in version 4.66.40, the developer has tweaked the feature to allow for both Cobra [break][/break]and non Cobra custom firmwares. This includes IDPS auto-spoofing as well. Lets take a look.

4.70.02 3/MAR/2015

BIG news for non-cobra CFW!
  • Added auto-boot PLUGINS FOR NON-COBRA CFW !!!
  • New PSNPatch plugin updated to fully run in BOTH COBRA and NON-COBRA;
  • Included webMAN-Mod plugin for both cobra and non-cobra modes;
  • "Block PSN Access" now works for BOTH COBRA and NON-COBRA at boot time;
    • (providing the PSNPatch plugin is installed - wait for PSNPatch welcome message).
  • IDPS auto-spoofing now works for BOTH COBRA and NON-COBRA at boot time;
    • (providing the PSNPatch plugin is installed - wait for PSNPatch welcome message).
  • Confirmed compatibility with 4.70 CFW
    • (this is just a confirmation as no code changes were needed);

Notes for non-cobra plugins:
1) Non-cobra plugins should be configured in /dev_hdd0/prx_plugins.txt; (PSNPatch does this automatically when installing PSNPatch or webMAN plugins)
2) Non-cobra plugins can mount games only in jailbreak format
3) ISO support for non-cobra is coming
4) When in non-cobra CFW: go to new "TOOLBOX" menu in PSNPatch app to configure plugins
5) Non-cobra plugins were tested just in 4.70, but it should be compatible with several previous CFW versions
6) Many failsafe procedures were taken in consideration to install the non-cobra plugin handler

In the event of something going wrong (a broken plugin or an error installing the plugin handler), there are 2 EASY failsafe procedures:

a) Create a "failsafe" file and place it in a folder named "core_flags" in a usb stick in the right usb port of the ps3. This procedure can also be done to disable plugin loading from non-cobra CFW.

b) Re-install the CFW from the Recovery menu.

Truly amazing work here man. Wow so much stuff for non-Cobra firmwares which I didn't think we would ever see. I'm taking t this has System Manager integrated or something of that nature.

System Manager "new core" by Estwald and initial "new core" by MiralaTijera are the base for being able to do "something else" at boot time :)
prx-loader by user with the changes by joonie and _NZV_ were the inspiration to load the plugins.
The ideas and source codes exchanged with aldo were essential.
Then a little bit of "this and that", and the "cookie" was ready !

The source code for this "new new core" or "prx-autoloader" :) is distributed with psnpatch.
At least, this was the beginning....

Meanwhile so many changes have already been made,
let's hope for the future ;)

I'm actually considering going to a standard CFW with this to play around with it. Never did I think we would see this without any interaction with the PS3 after biit for standard CEX CFW's

I can't get the auto boot plugins to work with loading a game. The plugins and the auto load install and messages come up that psn is blocked and works before i mount a game. When I go to mount with gamesonic manager 3.59.2 and turn on psn patch and then go to sign in to psn i get the error code800-something.im on ferrox 4.70 version 1. Help Thank You

To be able to help you, I need to know exactly what error you have.
But I suspect you are not using psnpatch plugin to disable cfw. If you do that, psn access will be restored at the same time.
Psn blocking is specific to psnpatch plugin.

Big thanks KW. What kind of time frame are you looking at to release iso mount support?

I'm surprised Habib has not released a cobra 4.70 yet.

I dunno about others but I have a strange problem (and kinda frightening one)

I installed all the plugins from the toolbox (was on rogero 4.55) and now, my PS3 freeze at startup (If i press "home" fast enough, I don't even see the xmb loaded ; if not freeze during the epilepsy warning) and do the "beebeebeep" sound if I turn it off.

Have I somehow "bricked" my PS3 ? Can I undo that ?

EDIT : Managed to use the recovery menu and format... Sad but working

After installing the auto loader plugin on Ferrox (which works great) my WebMan Mod gets converted into regular WebMan and can't be altered to WebMan Mod without disabling the auto loader. I'm relatively new to the scene so if this is an intended feature or something sorry about that.

Format ????!
Why ?????
You just had to activate the failsafe flag.
Exactly as detailed in the release notes.

Some of the questions posted here and in other forums make me think it was a bad idea to release the non-cobra plugins and psn blocking
Why ?
Because, as always everybody start in a rush to install everything they see without previously understanding what they are doing.
A very special attention was made to detail the process, so there weren't any doubts.
I will exceptionally summarize these processes.
More details in the release notes:
A) non-CFW plugins - if something goes wrong just activate the failsafe FLAG [edited];
B) psn auto blocking - psn access will report errors until CFW is disabled using the PSNPATCH PLUGIN;
C) these 2 functions were tested only in 4.70.
