PS3 PSX Star Wars REBEL ASSAULT II issues

this game is considered one of the best Star Wars games ever made along the first part (sega cd)

my very good friend of mine came to my place today (still here) because he wanted to fulfill a birthday wish i asked to him couples months ago and he presented himself today with a copy of his game.

we have ripped/tested his iso bin/cue and despite the fact that the psdevwiki ps3/ps1 compatibility list saying the game is perfectly compatible , we experience a LOTS of technical issues :

The menus work fine but any FMV flickers really bad with only the left 1/4 of the screen actually viewable

His discs work on his PS2 console but ISO tested on my CFW PS3 have issues mentionned above.

I searched for a .SBI file for this game but didnt find anything online...

Did you guys know what could cause theses problems ?
Did im alone to have this kind of issues trying to play it on my webman ?
Did someone here have been able to create a fix or patch for giving new life for this masterpiece ?

if its a ps1 game just put the disc in drive and play it...no need to rip it at all.

that would be piracy...unless he gives you disc (which will play in ps3).
