QCMA v0.3.10

What is QCMA?
  • From Official Website: "Qcma is a cross-platform application to provide a Open Source implementation of the original Content Manager Assistant that comes with the PS Vita. Qcma is meant to be compatible with Linux, Windows and MAC OS X."

  • Basic metadata for single songs (album, artist, title, cover art).
  • Basic metadata for videos (duration, dimensions, thumbnail).
  • Basic metadata for photos (dimensions, thumbnails).
  • Simple backup browser: view and delete the backups on your PC without a Vita.
  • Easy wireless pairing (show PIN to the user when a Vita is detected).
  • Ability to restart the connection if the Vita is reconnected.

TODO:
  • Complete categories for music.
  • Persistent backend for database.

Released v0.3.10

This is a maintenance-only release with very few features:

QCMA v0.3.10
  • + Sort game entries alphabetically on the Vita side.
  • + Fixed bug where users from some countries couldn't connect to qcma since the update xml provided wasn't valid for them.
  • + Changed dbus support for unix signals on qcma_cli (linux only)
  • + Added support for Ubuntu Wily, Fedora 23 and Debian Jessie.
  • - Removed support for Ubuntu utopic and vivid, Fedora 22 and Debian wheezy.

Warning: Some users (me included) reports that full backup restores fails sometimes on FW 3.51 (but works OK on 3.55). This seems a bug on the firmware itself since it happens too with the official Sony CMA. Not sure if this affects < 3.51. Individual game backup restores seems to work fine.

From now i won't be including new features and will be only be fixing some bugs on Qcma since i lack the time to deal with this project. Also i started the Qcma2 project some months ago so hopefully i can bring proper android support, multi account and remove the need for database reescans. There is no ETA for this one since i work on it on my free time.
Thanks to GameSonic.it for the News Alert!!!

Cool Thanks @codestation for update always used and still use QCMA instead of OpenCMA/CMA cause its just better (more features) and work with 3.18 and 3.55 PS Vita and PSTV 3.20 together if you change settings. and yes you can install pkg files only with qcma

the only disadvantage it have its unstable sometimes (i hope it will work more stable with this and future releases)
but you can just uninstall and install Qcma again the PS Vita Connected on the PC with the USB cable plugged in so qcma install PS vita drives again and qcma working fine again.

Well if QCMA is "unstable" it is most likely due to having (O)CMA installed as well due to driver conflicts. And this version still has PSP Demo's blacklisted. While I do suggest using this app I do suggest keeping a separate install of the older 0.3.2 as well if you need demo's for cloning.

Well i dont have open cma or cma installed at all only QCMA...because its better and like you said you have to choose QCMA or (O)CMA you cant use or should not use them at the same time because of the different drivers

normally qcma work fine but allways after some weeks or a mouth i have to reintall it because it dont recognize my Ps Vita anymore
Not a big problem at all just a small bug...still better than to use opencma ... imo

oh i was not aware PSP demos are Blacklisted in the newer versions of QCMA

If somebody need here is direct links archive (FTP) downloads for QCMA 0.3.2 - 0.3.10 (for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X) in one place

r u connecting the vita to ur computer via usb or wifi? if it can't connect, restart the vita. I always connect the vita via wifi first, so that it detects the vita for sure; then, I connect via usb afterwards.

make sure airplane mode isn't enabled. that could be the cause anyway since it will prevent access to wifi on the vita while the ps tv doesn't have airplane mode at all.

Only used USB once to do the download trick as I just got a Vita and only had a PSTV prior to this. And only reason I did that was because I was on 4.21 which doesn't have WiFi support for CMA transfers. The Vita and PSTV are painfully slow transferring Vita content over WiFi, USB or LAN. PSP & PS1 are muuch faster and I am not sure why. It takes about 30+min to transfer over Retro City Rampage which is only 60mb or so but I can transfer over say God of War which is 1.4gb but a PSP game in over 20min. It is weird and can only guess it is due to encryption.

I use a usb connection whenever I can. unfortunately, u can't use one with the pstv. I'm not sure if I've ever noticed a difference between vita and ps1 games. as u know, I have the digital version of uncharted - the golden abyss for the unity install. I don't recall it taking longer to transfer from my pstv to my ps vita or from the ps3 to the pstv. I have noticed, however, that system restore is a bit unstable for both open cma and qcma. I think that's mentioned in the bugs' section of qcma. with system backup, I have no issues.

Well since my beloved PS3 is DOA ATM I had some time to tinker with this and my PSTV. It seems the transfers are faster over WiFi in every test I tried so stability seems to have been added. Now back to Soul Sacrifice, forgot how amazing this game is being junked out on Bloodborne.
