Hello, I'm a new member here and I don't have much technical knowledge.
The post is quite long, so it may be a bit inconvenient to read. Thank you for your understanding.
I purchased a CECHA00 Japan model with Firmware 3.55 for SACD Player and ripping.
I updated it to Rebug 3.55.4 REX CFW, and I have SACD Ripper 0.36 and Rebug Toolbox 02.02.09 installed.
In Rebug Toolbox, I only enabled the QA Flag as a precaution and didn't change anything else.
The PS3 recognizes SACDs, but when I try to play them, I get the error code '80029bc1' and playback doesn't start.
SACD Ripper works normally and successfully rips the disc to ISO.
To determine whether the issue is hardware‑related or firmware‑related, I tried several things and What I've found so far is this:
With CFW 3.55.x, SACD ripping is possible, but playback is not.
And the firmware is old, it can no longer connect to the PSN servers, so time synchronization and internet access are not available.
With CFW 4.84.2, SACD ripping is not possible (ripper v0.36), but playback works.
And It can connect to the PSN servers, so time synchronization and internet access work, and Blu‑ray discs play normally because the decryption keys can be authenticated over the internet.
Through all the tests I've done so far, I've confirmed that there is no hardware issue.
However, I still can't determine whether SACD playback failure on CFW 3.55.x is caused by the firmware itself or by the lack of internet connectivity.
Likewise, I don't know whether the inability to rip SACDs on CFW 4.84.2 and above is due to the firmware or because SACD Ripper(v0.36) is not compatible.
Without specialized knowledge, it's difficult for me to figure out the cause of this problem.
Has anyone experienced this issue?
If anyone has solved this issue, I would really appreciate it if you could share the method.
I want to use my PS3 as both an SACD player and an SACD ripper.
Thank you.
These are the tests and attempts I have carried out so far.
