PS2 Question PS2 OPL and HDD

I'm going to buy a 2.5" HDD and I have the USB 3.0 case for PS1 and PS2 games on the USB port of the PS2 Slim 90000 via OPL
What 2.5" HDD technologies do you recommend for used HDD models sold on AliExpress?
Do any settings in OPL help preserve and increase the HDD's life expectancy and improve performance?
