PS3 Question regarding EVILNAT 4.88.2 CFW

The other day I switched from HEN to CFW. BEFORE HEN I WAS ON REBUG 4.84 CEX. I successfully updated to EVILNAT 4.88.2 but there is one thing that is bugging me. The /app_home/PS3_GAME folder on the game category is named "PlayStation®3" but upon opening the XMB in-game, it displays /app_home/PS3_GAME

Any suggestions?

it was changed to make it look pretty. i guess the in-game XMB uses a different XML file so it should have been changed too. it should not cause any problems.

That is understandable, Is there any way to change it back? I'm just so used to the old way it was displayed

i think you can edit the category_game.xml in /dev_flash/vsh/resource/explore/xmb/ to change it back.
It doesn't seem to show the test it is displaying in the XML how ever I tried changing the gamedebug string anyway but nothing

Thank you for helping.

For many years there have been concerns about the debug icon app_home/PS3_GAME
Some users considered it useless and the long name with mixed caps looks odd on XMB.
Around 2013, @deank came with the idea of replace the name with PlayStation®3 but later he dropped the idea.
Last year @DeViL303 and I were modding explore_plugin_full.rco for XMB sorting and we changed the name of that icon again among other changes in the resource file.

That mod was originally included in Ultimate Toolbox and later implemented in Evilnat CFW 4.88.2

To restore the original name need to use rcomage to edit the XMLs in explore_plugin_full.rco and replace it in /dev_blind/vsh/resource

The name "App Home" text is inside explore_plugin_full.rco and the in-game inside explore_category_game.rco

I never really understood all the fuss about app_home.

Unless someone has OCD & cannot cope seeing a XMB entry he may never use because he does not keep backups in legacy format, I see no reason to permanently remove app_home (no idea why it was removed from HEN) & quite frankly I see no good reason for renaming it either.

Giving people homebrew features to remove, rename, restore it, etc.. is perfectly acceptable of course but making definitive choices for the users leaving them with no alternative than manual editing to bring the original stuff back is a questionable decision imho.
