Questions About Installing a ps3 HDD into Another One

so, last month my ps3 super slim acidentally fell on the ground and the damage made was to major to be worth paying for repairs so i going to buy a used one online but the hdd of the broken ps3 is still working and i really dont want to lose my saves,redownload all my digital games on psn and the 500Gb size is nice so i wondering how im suposed to do this and if i could just shove the hdd right in or i need to do something else, the other ps3 i planning to buy is a super slim as well

when you put it in a different ps3, the new ps3 will format it. if you can not get the ps3 to boot, there is no way to get the saves. a pc can not read it without the key and there is no way to do that on super slims.

so in the end i cant even copy the saves from the pc huh,atleast i made a backup of the saves but it was four months ago,still thanks for awsering my question,guess i gotta prepare everything for the new ps3 from zero.

You could if You have EID Root Key, but on HEN is currently impossible to retrieve it. And this key (used in HDD encryption) is unique per console. So currently there is no way to get back the saves, and even if in future on HEN user will be able to read ERK, then You of course need the working console (or flash dump if key encrypting place with ERK is static and would be public).

If this data is for You very important. Keep the console and it's HDD for better times.
