Rebug 4.70.1 CEX: Can't use external HDD/load games while charging controller.

Basically if I have the controller plugged in through USB the external HDD will turn off and reset indefinitely when trying to load a game leading to the error 8001002b which is an I/O error. If the game does boot, the cutscenes won't load or the levels won't load and the HDD simply turns off and resets. This only happens when the controller is plugged in otherwise everything is fine.

apparently the USB bus of the PS3 cant handle your HDD + controller
it happens to me not with the original controller but with a PS2 adapter so i have to copy the game to internal
generally a USB port provides 500 mA and the two ports of the PS3 are just a hub i think so the 500mA are shared between them
also low quality USB products use too much current are you using genuine controller, what kind of HDD is it?

Externally power your usb drive.

Is bad idea fir using this controller. It uses more than 500mA, this can kill you micro controler.

Your hdd is 3'5 or slim 2'5 drive? If is 2'5 then should work with additional usb connected. If is 3'5 then also better use active hub or external power.
