Rebug Toolbox not working

I haven't used my jailbroken PS3 for a few months and when I connected it again there was no display and then I held the power button in to reset it. It turned out to be my HDMI cable that was faulty.

Anyway, after that multiman was not working. Long story short - I upgraded to Rebug 4.75. I downgraded to OFW 3.55 then upgraded to Rebug 4.75 again.

I'm still getting the following errors:

When running Rebug Toolbox, it reboots and displays "Game quit no request event" (which I read somewhere is normal) but then when I go to app_home/PS3_GAME/ I get "An error occurred during the start operation 80028F14"

I formatted the file system, restored default settings, rebuilt database and this keeps on happening.

Please help somebody!!

Thanks,

Carel

You need run toolbox from XMB, you probably running it thru multiman. Is app that should be in game column and not need to mount it. Also be sure that you installed version provided with latest rebug 2.02.05. or 2.02.06.

Yes it is CFW - When it boots it has the Rebug logo - I then went back to OFW - then the logo was gone, then went back to Rebug.

I'm still getting the following errors:

When running Rebug Toolbox, it reboots and displays "Game quit no request event" (which I read somewhere is normal)

This is normal for every Rebug Firmware.

but then when I go to app_home/PS3_GAME/ I get "An error occurred during the start operation 80028F14

This is also normal if you haven't mounted any game from multiman/irisman/managunz or if you have cobra enabled.

did u install the new version of rebug toolbox? rebug has the new toolbox listed under the hdd pkg install location even though it's in the rebug folder of the flash, so that's the pkg install location u need to go to in order to install it. u could also download the pkg from their website. the game quit, no request event error is related to being forced out of an app without exiting properly. it's related to dex, so that's y u see it with rebug and not most other cfw.

Yes it is the latest - it happens with anything I install, Irisman, Multiman, Rebug Toolbox - it reboots back into XMB with the quit, no request event error and I thought I have to go to app_home/PS3_GAME to actually start it.

Is there something else I have to do to get it started because it just goes back into XMB.

Thanks,

Carel

sounds like an issue with ur hdd then.

I had the same issue but it was due to running an older toolbox. Not sure why this would happen other then a bad HDD if your in the current one.

after you used the downgrader CFW to take you back to 3.55 did you install QA toggle and run it?

did you then install 3.55 cFW like Rogero 3.55.7?

and AFTER that did you then install 3.55 OFW and then rebug?

Before you started the whole downgrade process...did you de activate any spoofer you had going? did you get out of cobra mode if you were on it? did you put rebug back to normal/retail?

On red - Not needed, rest of course is good idea to do dehashing in way like [MENTION=495]Zoilus[/MENTION] mention. Just remember to install 3.55 OFW from recovery.

My console got banned so I installed the new rebug firmware, spoofed it to 4.76 and I used the latest ccpi when I got my new console id and psid.....I tried logging in but the temporally suspension blah blah don't come no more but rather "you have been signed out of psn." With an error code.... When I restart it,at the top right corner of the screen says psn locked....help me unlock it pls..need to get back online[emoji30][emoji30][emoji30]

So I have to go to CFW 3.55, then run QA Toggle (Don't know what it is - will google it now) then go to OFW, and then back to latest Rebug?

I never had any spoofers running.

BTW: Can you play GTAV online if you have a spoofer running? My son has a Social Club account for PC, can that be used?

Thanks,

Carel

What process should I follow?

Say I'm back at OFW 3.55 what steps should I do?

BTW, I installed a new HDD as well - had to go back to OFW 3.55 to get it working.

All you have to do is run the Toggle QA on CFW 3.55.

Then you can install the latest Rebug directly via usb/xmb if you would like.

As far as online play, psnpatch is the way to go. As with anything there is still risk but I believe risk is minimal with PSN patch disabling cfw. As long as you aren't doing anything frowned upon (like modding or cheating during online play.)

If he is already on 3.55 OFW then he can go straight to rebug 4.75.3 or other current cfw and there activate qa flag.

I'd suggest reformatting the hdd. place all of ur games/content on an external hdd. then, with that external hdd, use robocopy to transfer over the param.sfo:

Code:
robocopy [source directory] [destination directory] PARAM.SFO /E

do the above in cmd prompt. it'll replicate the folder structure and only the PARAM.SFO to the destination folder. oh, and no brackets either. now, reformat the hdd. transfer over the content of the destination drive to the internal hdd and rebuild the database. all of ur games will be back. I managed to install around 5,000 psn/content for around 60MBs using this method. u could either transfer over ur content back to the internal hdd or just use gamedata tool to use psn/dlc content. u have an option to install gamedata to the external hdd within mm, but it can be slow, so it's best to install on the internal hdd, check the option for the game, then transfer game data to ur external hdd.

edit: I forgot to mention that robocopy is integrated into windows, so u don't have to download anything. not sure about the cmnds off the top of my head for xp and before, but it's called xcopy on older versions of windows.

I still have no luck:

I installed a new HDD.

I went back to CFW 3.55, Installed and ran QAtoggle, then went back to OFW 3.55, then Rebug 4.75 through recovery/safe mode.

Still the same problem, anything I install, when I run it, it just goes back to XMB.

Ok, can you try launching apps on other cfw? or cfw 3.55?

That qa toggle app doesn't have GUI so you can't be sure if that worked fine or not. [TOOLBOX can also toggle QA FLAG]

Also try playing any ps3 games from the bd drive itself if you could and let me know how it goes.

Your issue can only be explained by having faulty logic board, other than that I do not find any reasons why apps are not working. We need to make sure this is NOT a FW specific issue.
