Recording on PS3HEN?

So lately I have been interested in recording on the ps3, but capture cards being so expensive and all, I thought that having a jail broken ps3 might help. I looked into a variety of plugins, but these just destroyed hen, and I would have to spend hours fixing it (all fixed now). It seems that CFW is the way to go with those, however, I only have a super slim. I tried things like remote play, but as they were a thing only on windows 7, if I do it on win 10 I have to download these file that my antivirus keeps deleting (don't have administrative access to that). I know this is a very long winded post, but I hope you will be able to help me

webMAN MOD has the ability to record games BUT as with all the recording plugins it is highly dependant on how demanding the game is to leave enough system memory available to be used to record your game play > don't be expecting to record game such as COD games.

The only sure fire way to record your game play is with an external capture device, or if you have a vid input on your PC > either through the GPU or another device [ this way there are many options to record > OBS, Nvidia'a recording software, Windows game mode capture, I think AMD cards have a simliar option thought not sure as atm they are crap compared to Nvidia GPUs ]

Older Capture devices are not so expensive such as older Elgato ones, you don't really need anything above the ability to record at 1080p @ 60 fps for PS3 and also that has HDCP pass through if your wanting to record from the HDMI and not the AV connection.

How don't you have admin access to your AV software ...? is the PC not yours, and is your account/user profile on the PC not the Admin?

The main account that's setup on Win10 after install is the Admin account, go into Users in the Setting menu and check > it should say Administrator under the Account name > then all you do is find the quarantined files in your AV software and make an exception for them.

For Windows defender, it will have a list of quarantined files and you can then select them to be allowed. You can find this in the Windows Defender menus.

You also have to set Windows to accept apps and installs from unsigned apps which can be done from the settings menu or smart screen is going to constantly block files and app installs automatically.

Thanks for all the information! As for the AV softare, I use Sophous, which only allows you to make file exceptions from its website, where you have to log in, so thats a no go. I should probably give up with recording without a capture card at this point, as it seems the only way to go
