.Coming Soon (original Article): As the PS3Xploit team continues the journey in an effort to bring PS3Xploit Tools and Hacks from 4.82 firmware to 4.83, a mission that is in development currently from @bguerville and @esc0rtd3w. During the research the team has stumbled upon a trick they decided to share very soon with everyone that entails the dumping of IDPS / PSID on 4.83 and lower and also is compatible with both Official Firmware & Custom Firmware along with any model PS3 Console. There is no exploit within this "release", this is only a funny poc to show that the Store app has untapped potential BUT this release DOES NOT bring us any closer to CFW installations from OFW 4.83 or the ability to use etHANol (aka HAN) hacks whatsoever. The team is currently still working on those other tasks and while there has been progress in their research for 4.83, it's a long journey and there are No Guarantees or Estimated Time of Arrivals. ​

The PS3Xploit Team has informed us that the release will take place within 24 hours from the time of this posting.

Nice work from the PS3Xploit Team,

But there still will be a hundred or more people read this and still ask " will this jailbreak my ps3 " its inevitable.... or " how long till xploit v4.0 " even though its in BLACK and WHITE and RED that it is NOT a jailbreak xlpoit and there is NO ETA on a new xploit.

Good work guys. Is this similiar to the old flats method that used the what's new section to dump idps on I think it was 4.72 and lower? Nice find none the less. Any process that doesnt involve using a flasher is a win win for me. Keep it guys

Nice I learned escort something.......lol, jk bro. Yea it used a proxy and as soon as what's new loaded up it dumped idps to a usb. Was cool method but sony patched it soon after. Glean some Infos from it if you can.

It was quite simple actually, flats released a standalone program which runed as a proxy server and automatically dumped the idps. Kind of like the PS3Proxy used now to bypass the update while accessing the PSN on 4.82. I guess theold firmware would provide the IDPS in the requests, probably encoded or compressed and flats reversed this format. But as he himself said, the big company will patch it soon and so it happened!

I guess this new method must be the PS Store and it's two methods used in javascript code. You had already discovred this way back when dealing with patches for NoPSN and way before PS3Xploit and HAN were ever heard of this. I think more methods should be of use to us, and we can also try to overwrite the sprx with other ones coming from different PKG and apps. Some sprx mining on the already existend sprx will also be a good idea so see what they provide.

You can use the IDPS on another banned console to unban it. You can extract the protected part of your backup and get access to xRegistry.sys and other protected files. Possibly more if we can find a way to exploit the IDPS somehow.

I think you need to use backup injection to use this method, can't see other way to inject the modded files on OFW.

Having IDPS, You can:

1. sell it...
2. spoofing already banned console (I mean: another which is banned by with Your dumped valid (to be banned again ;D))
   
3. controlling saves (i.e resign for another user or remove Copy Prohibited attribute (those which are PFD protected))
4. controlling trophies (only on CFW, because You have no way to copy them in both ways on HAN and especially pure OFW)
   
5. controlling whole system backup (with IDPS it will be less useless)

If only we could get ERK in such way it would be pure gold and simultaneously holy grail... ^^
