Today its going to be a sad day. in 2016 i built http://rcnforps3.xtgem.com/ for the PlayStation(R)3 this was the first website the world to solely built the site on a actual PS3 System without a PC. This was because i didnt own one i used alternative tools to build the site mostly to add images additional css coding and important javascripts i used "EX File Explorer" on android to build the scripts and css. I built this site when i was younger because i wanted to give people a reason to use their PS3's Built in web browser without having to install custom firmware etc.
The website has gone through a lot of changes, lots of content with only me working on the entire project. The sole purpose of this site was to allow PS3 users to load sites using iframe based pages and use less ram then the actual site uses/requires allowing users to back out of the application and load another one without having to close/reboot your ps3 to clear the ram. it works similar to the app on the PSP (PlayStation(R)Portable) "Netfront Browser" witch would force the psp web browser to use all the ram and remove sony's ram cap to 2mb. This does the opposite since most sites treat the PS3 as a PC. witch this app center had scripts witch i slowly removed overtime to purposely break features (as i was closely shutting the site down anyways after 5 years of operation) that communicated with sony's webview to use less ram when loading iframe sites.
This code allowed me to access sony's webview based on the webview they used. unfortunately this code was broken as time gone by because websites were switching to a advanced stage of HTML5 witch ultimately broke some of the apps anyways leaving a webpage cannot be displayed message to PS3 users.
At some point my plan was to relocate the site to a new hosting provider that could fit my needs and unfortunately that didn't come to be, since the PS3 was using netfront engine and it was a older version that doesn't support higher version of html5. witch lead me with frustration. This is the best reason to say why the site is shutting down since most of the apps stopped loading. their is no reason for me to keep the site online anymore.
This site was also using xtgem as it's host provider witch supports the PS3's Latest Netfront version and most site on it's platform worked with the ps3. The only issue i had with this provider is slow login issues, buggy loading issues when trying to access my account and sometimes will shut down all sites associated with xtgem witch some on my youtube channel kept asking me if i shut the site down.
So this is a post to say goodbye i guess to the site and if you ever used it then you know this site was something apart of the PS3 witch i succeded in what i wanted it to do. If you never heard of this site, well you missed out because i heavely advertised this site on forums etc.
as soon as i can get xtgem to load correctly the site will go offline forever and idk if ill ever make a new one!
