Yes, I'm quite getting the idea now. I just would have to try it myself. Probably during the weekend when I have the time.

Question, though, does the video also show how to install pkg files with the hacked system? I think I did not see it in the video or I could have just missed on it.
 
I'm having trouble accessing the exploit page for some reason. Is the possibility of this page opening directly connected to the PS3 reading the HAN supporting files within the USB Flashdrive?
 
@habib I keep getting an error of the .rif not copying to the ps3, no matter what I try it just errors and tells me to refresh.
Is there some special voodoo magic I must perform? Or is the .rif to the game im trying just not allowed? The game is Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. Any help would be much appreciated after me banging my head on the wall for a few hours.

Clear browser cache, history, cookies, link directly to the exploit page(check han toolbox)
Don't forget to be on the secondary user

Or the easiest way is, head over here

Place rap in raps folder, act.dat and idps.hex in root folder
Run the batch and install pkg while you are in the second user. This is the new method and the fastest and easiest
 
Someone has already asked this, but is there any benefit of staying on 4.81. Can't log in nor create a secondary account without updating.
 
Anybody knows how to fake sign a psx pkg? I sign the psx pkg with the ps3xploit-resigner but when i install it i have the error 80029563 :/

Tried this method as well, The game upon launch just says "renew license to play game" and links to the playstation store.
So is this just not possible with said game? I've followed all steps to the tee.

@habib is there some other step that I have to figure out myself?
 
I'm having troubles getting stuff to initiate. First the dumper took awhile. Now han installer won't initiate. I've cleared cookies, history, etc

Soon as i posted. I went back into web page and it worked

Question regarding the supposed content of the USB (as I am having trouble making the files appear on the PS3 but the system detects the USB memory drive when inserted into it): What exactly constitutes the USB memory drive to be linked with the device?

Right now, I'm only placing these files directly within the root of the USB: category_game.xml, explore_category_game.rco, explore_plugin.sprx, explore_plugin_full.rco, and videoplayer_plugin.rco at root directory.

Or should it be "root:/han_supportfiles/"?

Try install HAN Toolbox, it will help with those issues most likely , it makes it so you can browse directly to any of the Xploit pages, which helps stop the browser memory filling up which can cause the issues like you are talking about.

That is right, just put them in the root of the drive, no folder. Then visit Xploit site with browser. The files will never show up on the XMB, the PS3 only sees media.

Ohh, so it's working on my end then. I thought I hit a stumblingblock at the very start and was contemplating whether or not there is an issue with the formatting of my USB memory drive. I actually used two for the same purpose but not at the same time, of course.
 
So, I had just successfully installed and enabled HAN and the PKG Debugger on my PS3. How do I proceed with installing it with backup PS3 games in PKG format?
