PS3 Reset achievements

Hi everyone; Brand new to the forums, brand new to the idea of hacking a PS3.

I have two PS3s. Basically, I want to hack my old one (sacrificial if need be) for only one reason.

I want to reset any trophies I earned on an account of mine (all PS3 games) and basically restart the account over from scratch. I have many purchases tied to the account, and I have been out of gaming for several years and want to get back into it. So I just want to clean reset this account, not create a new one.

As I understand it, you can browse to a directory local on the PS3, reset the achievements database and then it will synch up with PSN and clear the achievements.

Do I understand this right? If not, please correct me.

Thanks.

I would highly advise not doing this, because it sounds like a ban risk as your achievements have already been synced with psn.

Just keep the PS3 always on OFW and dont use the account in which youve purchased things to cheat online.

You cant get rid of the trophies if theyve already been synced into your profile over PSN

maybe the trophies are pointless to you but they are something you have acheived over time and SONY wont just nuke your trophies anyways because they use it to get a sense of what games are still popular and what trophies are still being aimed for to this day

There is no harm that having trophies could bring... Also if you have purchased content with said account, then you should never want to switch that PS3 to HFW/CFW from OFW and then use it online because you could lose everything you paid for trying to test something silly that you should just leave the way it is.

Use a sacrificial account, preferrably not one that youve been gaming on legitimately for years... especially if its an account youve used on PS3, PS4, PSmobile and even PS5... dont waste it

Reset achievements on server is not possible. If you delete the trophy folder and try to sync it, the PS3 will recreate it with the trophies you have synchronized before. And also, as @pinky and @SKEPTiCK already wrote, there is also a ban risky.
