PS1 RetroArch Case Pack Project v2 (for PS1)

I like 2D cases more than standard covers as thumbnails in emulator frontends, and I prefer them to resemble the real ones from back in the day. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a set that satisfied me enough, so I decided to make my own. All images are prepared for RetroArch or similar frontends/emulators, but they can be easily adapted to other platforms/environments. This project took me many hours of work, so I hope you enjoy it - especially since PAL 2D cases are quite rare, as most people tend to choose NTSC-U versions. If you need additional covers, you can use the included empty templates.

Games (especially for PlayStation) were released across different regions in quite a variety of case types and variants. In PAL regions, there were cardboard boxes, large single- and double-disc cases, slim single-disc cases, and oversized cases for three or more discs. Some single-disc games were released in multi-disc cases; some cases had the PlayStation logo engraved on the left side, while others did not. On top of that, covers can also be found in several styles: full-image covers, covers with a bottom bar, and each of these with different logo variants in the top-left corner. For NTSC-U, there were also cardboard boxes, long plastic cases, multi-disc cases similar to PAL ones, and fragile standard jewel cases for single- and double-disc games. As you can see, it's a bit of a mess-and quite a challenge to recreate them all.

This collection contains cases and covers for what I consider to be the best and most interesting games ever released. The goal of this project is to make them as realistic as possible, which means matching the original aspect ratios, logos, their placement, and the case types as closely as possible. All covers have been edited to remove the original logos (thank God for content-aware algorithms! ^^), as well as scratches, dust, and other damage. Some were also resized and/or slightly cropped due to the generally low quality of available scans (cut edges, incorrect colors, etc.).

Over the years, ESRB changed its rating system, so I used the modern version (for "KA" I used "E", for "A" I used "M" etc.). For the sake of simplicity, I did not include real game IDs or serial numbers that can be found on original covers.
