PS3 SACD Daemon 0.38 on Evilnat 4.92.2 (CECHA01) — Port 2002 open but sacd_extract can’t connect (Client

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to dump SACDs from a PS3 FAT CECHA01 using SACD Daemon + sacd_extract over the network, but I can't get the client to connect reliably.
Hardware / CFW

  • PS3 Model: CECHA01
  • CFW: 4.92.2 Evilnat [CEX]
  • App: SACD Daemon 0.38
  • Network: PS3 on Ethernet, Windows workstation on Ethernet (same LAN)
SACD status

  • PS3 does recognize SACDs properly in XMB
(I see: Super Audio CD, with Stereo and Multi-Channel layers available)
Daemon screen

  • Status: Active
  • IP: 192.168.0.57
  • Port: 2002
  • Disc: inserted
  • Client: None
PC side

  • OS: Windows 11
  • Tool: sacd_extract 0.3.9.3-107 win64
  • Command I'm running:
.\sacd_extract.exe -i 192.168.0.57:2002 -s -o "D:\Music Rips\SACD Rips"

Error

It immediately fails with:
libsacdread: Can't open 192.168.0.57:2002 for reading

Network tests

Ping is good:
ping 192.168.0.57

Reply is <1ms, 0% packet loss.
Port testing is confusing:
Sometimes this shows False:
Test-NetConnection 192.168.0.57 -Port 2002

After rebooting/relaunching SACD Daemon, it can show True:
Test-NetConnection 192.168.0.57 -Port 2002 -InformationLevel Detailed

…but even when it's True, sacd_extract still fails and the daemon still shows Client: None.
What I'm looking for

When I run sacd_extract, the PS3 beeps immediately. So it is reacting to the client attempt, but SACD Daemon still shows Client: none, and the PC still errors libsacdread: Can't open 192.168.0.57:2002 for reading

Can anyone confirm the correct working combo for:
  • Evilnat 4.92.2 + SACD Daemon version
  • whether I should be using a different client syntax (tcp:/socket: etc.)
  • or whether there's a known issue where the daemon binds port 2002 but won't accept SACD reads
If needed I can post photos of:
  • the daemon screen (status/IP/port/disc/client)
  • the Windows Test-NetConnection output
  • the exact console output from sacd_extract
Thanks in advance — I'm very close but stuck at the client connect stage.

If anyone recommends a direct-to-HDD ISO dump method on Evilnat 4.92.2 instead of socket streaming, I'm open to that too.

Does anyone have a working SACD-Ripper PKG / daemon build older than 0.38 (ex: v0.37) they can share/reupload?

Console:
CECHA01
CFW: Evilnat 4.92.2 Cobra 8.5 [CEX]

Problem: SACD plays fine in XMB (both Stereo + Multichannel layers show up and both play), but SACD Daemon 0.38 usually shows "Disc: empty".
Sometimes if I insert the disc while SACD Daemon is open it briefly shows Disc: inserted, but extraction still fails.

Windows client: sacd_extract (EuFlo enhanced build)
Result: client connects for a split second, then drops.

Exact error on Windows:
  • Response result non-zero on disc opened
  • libsacdread: Can't open 192.168.0.57:2002 for reading

Goal: Rip SACD to ISO over network (stereo first is fine).
If anyone has a known-good PKG/daemon build that works on Evilnat 4.92.2, please share.

Although it is slightly different from the issue you are experiencing, I had a problem where SACD playback and ripping could not be done at the same time.
The cause seemed to be that SACD-Ripper was not compatible with the PS3 CFW.
and with help from the developer Berion, the issue was resolved after installing a compatible ripper.
I only performed USB ripping, so I did not test network ripping, but it may be worth trying.

Saving the ripped ISO file directly to the hard disk is also a feature I would like to see, but it seems impossible unless the developer modifies the program.

Hi, thanks for the reply — that's actually very helpful.

At this point I'm not tied to network ripping at all. USB ripping or even internal HDD output is perfectly fine — I just need a known-working configuration.
Current setup for clarity:
  • Console: CECHA01
  • CFW: Evilnat 4.92.2 (Cobra 8.5, CEX)
  • Issue: SACD Daemon 0.38 consistently reports "Disc: empty" even though XMB correctly detects and plays SACD stereo + multichannel.
  • Behavior: Client briefly connects, then drops (libsacdread: Can't open … for reading).
Based on your comment (and others I've seen), this looks like a CFW compatibility issue, not a hardware problem.
If anyone can confirm a working combination (for example:
  • Rebug 4.84/4.85
  • SACD-Ripper 0.36 or daemon 0.37
  • USB or local HDD ripping)
or point to a known-good PKG / firmware pairing that still works on CECHA hardware, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks again — I'm just trying to get one reliable rip path working.

Have you tried installing SACD-Ripper version 0.38 from the link provided by the developer Berion?
As far as I know, this package is modified version of the original 0.38, by another developer to work on CFW 3.55 ~ 4.xx and later.

Please refer to this thread.

In my case as well, original 0.38 version I found through web searching failed to recognize the SACD and showed the slot as empty.

I had the same issue. After downloading and installing the version mentioned in the last post, I was at least able to extract the ISO to a USB stick, with the DSF-File extraction done on my Mac afterwards. Extraction via the network still failed (same CFW on CECHC04), but at least it worked using this workaround. Just make sure to click "no" within the first seconds after starting the Ripper from the XMB, so that it does not launch in Daemon mode.

Thanks — just to clarify, I've read through the thread and I don't see a current source for SACD-Ripper 0.37.
If anyone still has:
  • the 0.37 PKG, or
  • 0.36 + daemon 0.37, or
  • can point to a surviving mirror or archive
I'd really appreciate it. USB or internal HDD output is perfectly fine.
