PS3 Save Data not working for recently downloaded game

I just got into home brewing for the ps3 in the last month or so. I just ripped dragon ball z bt3 off of the ps2 disc and got a 100% complete save data file from gamefaqs. Problem is the game isn't using the save data. The file is in .psv and is the correction region. I copied it from the usb drive into the virtual ps2 internal memory card. Any reason why it wouldn't be working. I ripped my other dbz game Budokai 2 and the save file worked doing the same thing. Also my cover won't show up and it's just a spinning circle.

The term: downloading is highly misleading. Transferring, copying etc. are far way better choice.

Not matching GameID or wrong VMC format, depend which emulator you using (*.VM2 vs *.VME).
