PS3 [Solved] Freeze / Black Screen when run ANY program

Hi,
I have an PS3 FAT running REBUG_4.82.2_REX. I don't have any programs inside. I install the REBUG TOOLBOX 02.02.16 from the Package Manager / Install Package Files / PS3 System Storage.
Installation finishes successful but when I run the REBUG TOOLBOX I get a black screen and nothing happens.
I tried to install webMan and the same thing happens.
Sorry but I'm new in PS3 stuff. Please advise.

bluray drive work?
 
not sure what could've happened. you might try noBD. it shouldn't harm the system even if the bluray drive works.
 
I Download and install the noBlueRay Firmware.
Again everything went fine. Installation OK. XML menus are working.
BUT when i install a homebrew program like multiman webman even prepNTFS when i try to run the program it stucks on black screen.
 
I manage to fix the issue doing the following steps.

01. ReInstall the OFW 4.82
02. Settings / PS3 Restore / Quick Format
03. Do the PS3xploit patch v2.0 (look in foum for guide)
04. Install the "4.82 CFW FERROX v1.01 COBRA 7.55 by Alexander"
05. ReInstall the "4.82 CFW FERROX v1.01 COBRA 7.55 by Alexander"
06. Settings / PS3 Restore / Quick Format
07. Install webMan, MultiMan, PrepNTFS, IrisMan

Test programs: Everything runs perfectly.

Hello folks

I have a similar problem that nitghtfear had:
Rebug Cobra 4.82.2 REX
Rebug Toolbox 02.02.16
Webman Mod 1.47.09
MM 4.82

I can not execute Rebug Toolbox or MM. WebMan Mod Upgrade with L1 + X results in black screen. But I assume that I don't have the BD problem, because I can run PS3 ISO games from a NTFS formatted external USB without problems.

Am I right in the assumption, that absent a NoBD CFW the PS3 ISOs would not run on a console with defective BD?

I assume as well that I need to do the "PS3 restore" step anyway, because something is fishy. I understand I need to Re-Install the firmware after the PS3 restore. Do I need to Re-Install the whole bunch (Rebug Toolbox, WebMan Mod, MM) after the re-installation of the CFW?

Or should I go to Evilnat 4.90 anyway?
I understand from other forum posts here that I need to have WebMan Mod on 1.47.44 prior to the installation Evilnat.

My goals are not to fancy: PS3 ISO games working, PS2 ISO games working, Rebug Toolbox and MM not resulting in black screen.
I am a half noob, I guess, so if I oversaw an existing solution to this problem just post a link here. No need to spend to much time on explanations.
