I can NO LONGER sign up for an account like I used to be able to. It won't let me "create a new account" or "use an existing" both give me error (80710A06)

I've tried updating rebug (just updated it to 4.81.2 D-REX )
My rebug toolbox is FULL and version 02.03.02
My LV2 kernel: DEX
Target type: DEX
System firmware 4.81 DEX

ACTUAL SYSTEM:
System software 4.81

I've done SEN enabler already also.

PSN patch is up to date also.

I tried making a new account with PSN patch, and without it. I've tried with changing active ps3ID to CEX and without changing to CEX.

I'm completely lost I need someone's help

It looks like an SSL error, make sure you consoles date and time is set correctly.

Maybe it is because you are on old fw, if setting the date correctly does not work try newer cfw

I believe this can also be due to if your NP Environment is set to something other than "np", if it's set to "sp-int" in Debug Settings, then that could be your issue, since sp-int is the developer network and np is the retail network that all players are connected to by default.

EDIT (2): What i do if i want to go online with my converted retail, is to use webman MOD to spoof the IDPS so that i can change my Product Code from 0x82 (Debug) to 0x87 (UK Retail), so that it allows me to connect to PSN. I also suggest doing this, but change it from 0x82 to your region. 0x84 being USA Retail systems for example. Here is the full list of Product Codes.

You'll find where to edit the IDPS under "IDPS & MEM Setup", as soon as you launch webman MOD's setup page.

sorry to haunt you, but I just remembered about old genuine devnet accounts. have you searched registry about it? on my decr there was none unfortunately

psdevwiki says it's ssl handshake problem. @dazzaXx , I had that problem when I got my ps3. it was set up to use sp-int, so it err'd when signing in (don't recall the exact error), but changing it to np worked.

My system has some logins left over in the PSN sign in, one with a "@ea.com" extension, i assume it was an account used on the devnet. Even found some "logs" in a lost+found folder and from what i read, it was said account in a party with others using the launcher that's on here. Assuming they were testing multiplayer features maybe?

EDIT: Typo

I think joonie said devnet accounts only had access if they were on a whitelist of IP addresses, maybe I am wrong.

Dump the xregistry, the password will be in plain text if it's saved. ;)

I still can't believe that they were storing account passwords in plaintext! of course, they were probably thinking "the PS3 is unhackeable, so nobody will ever see that plaintext password"... but as things turn out, it was a very bad choice.

and for sure, any rogue software could easily steal not just console-IDs, but psn accounts and do a lot of nasty stuff... that's why I think that open-source in the PS3 is quite critical.

(At least now you can enable 2-factor auth, and have some peace of mind.)

I fixed it but forgot to come back here and say I did ! The fix was just reinstalling rebug 4.81 I was too high on the versions. But I have a NEW and way more head-scratching problem that I'm about to post if you can help !
