PS2 Splashdown not working through OPL

I am running games through SMB on a ps2 slim (SPCH-75004). I tried to run the game through OPL 0.9.3 and even tested older versions. Tried pal and usa versions, nothing worked for me. Black screen and it never load. Options 1 and 6 did nothing as well. I saw that in compability lists it works through internal ps2 hdd. What about SMB? Anyone knows?

They are identical

I tried the daily build it's not working again.
Through router I connect my pc. That wasn't an issue with any other game though. Around 100 hundred games I've played this way, this is the only one refusing to work.

we have some progress. I tried the game through a usb stick and the game loads. Unfortunatelly before starting a race it loads eternally. Tried various settings like skip videos, acurrate reads, emulate dvd, skip IGR nothing solved the problem. Maybe it works on past OPL versions although, I will do more tests. Also a friend of mine who has a slim model newer than mine told me the game works for him through SMB. Maybe this model just doesn't work with this game what can I say.

I have made quick test with a Splashdown (SLUS_202.23) on SCPH-50004 & 70004:

With ESR r10f (direct or with direct off) after intro credits FMV
I get a BSOD (Black screen of death).
So theoretically it is some kind of a progress...

Unfortunately I cannot boot this game through ETH with an OPL 1562.
I only get a BSOD after debug colors (tried many compatibility modes & combinations).
I was not able to even see intro credits FMV.

Can you test this game with an ESR:

I finally bought empty dvds and patched/burned the the usa iso (SLUS_202.23) to dvd. After the Rainbow Studios logo the game freezes on black screen now.

As far I know compatibility between SCPH-75004 or newer should be the same.
Nope! It is the first DECKARD-PS2 and has the lowest compatibility!
Some later models got a higher compatibility via a "settings-file", which configures DECKARD's IOP-Emulation.

It also is possible to "inject" an updated "config-list" on every DECKARD-PS2 (technically, during runtime... ahead of the game being started), to increase the compatibility on these models.

I think the first version of Tekken 4 did not work correctly on a 75k (AFAIR), but can be made to work with that "settings-file"!

I doubt that this is the issue at hand (in this case) though.

With ESR r10f (direct or with direct off) after intro credits FMV
Please also try an older version!

Please also try an older version!

Here are my tests!
  • ESR r9b (direct\direct off) BSOD after debug colors!
  • ESR r9c (direct\direct off) BSOD at boot!
  • ESR r10e (direct\direct off) BSOD after intro (FMV) credits!
  • ESR r10f (direct\direct off) BSOD after intro (FMV) credits!
