Hello, I am new to this site.
I have purchased a Slim cech-3001a 160GB PS3 USED online that was not on Dex.
I have recently upgraded the OS to update 4.89
I have performed a backup of all data to an external Drive.
I created the USB bootable media with the 4.89 update from Sonys website and made sure the drive was FAT32. (It's a 1gb drive made around 2008?) I made sure it goes PS3>UPDATE>Pup file
I purchased a Samsung Evo 870 1tb Drive that I want to use as the new drive.
When I plug in the new drive, and turn on the system, it asks to connect the controller and then press start and select to find the Update.
I plug the stick into the right port and press select and start and it checks for a little while, then I get presented with the error message (Critical error, please contact technical support 8002f22f)
I have just performed a 9 hour system restore last night and read that this can help, however it did not.
I have just taken out the drive and put in a 500gb SSD from crucial to try and perform the operation however it received the same error.
Am I missing somthing?? Any tips?
If it's allowed, i'm willing to pay for support.
I just want to upgrade the Drive. Nothing else really. Just a faster drive is all i'm wanting here.
Thanks
( reason for edit: added cech-3001a for model)
