PS2 [Testers Needed] OPL internal exfat 2TB+ HDD and multi-BDM devices

@Azazel_PL, @dukejp

OPL Beta 1.2.0.6 1996 SMB ISO - freezes on a white screen
OPL Beta 1.2.0 2048 SMB ISO - works well

Write to @grimdoomer that he needs to fix this game.

Does Beta 1.2.0 2048 works with exFat formated HDDs?

I already wrote to @grimdoomer with some other questions but he is not answering.

I'm in the middle of my OPL Beta 1.2.0.6 compatibility list. Over 400 games tested, launched from exfat HDD, save/load checked and played for 30-60 min each. Only one game, so far doesnt work at all - Donkey Xote.

No, nobody has added this to the official OPL and wLE.

This game only works with Mode 6.
Donkey Xote with Mode 6 doesnt work with OPL 1. 2.0.6. Beta. I have checked. Same with Mobile Suit Gundam Zeonic Front, game is broken on grimdoomers OPL Beta and freeze o Mode 2 and have graphics issues without any Mode.

I have a problem with Onimusha 2, any version (PAL, NTSC and hack undub). After the first video in which they introduce the protagonists, the screen goes black and doesn't work anymore. Said video can be skipped by pressing start and the game continues as normal, but much later in the game (the airship) there is a video sequence that cannot be skipped and also the screen stays fixed, this time white.
I have tried almost every combination of Modes 1 to 6, but nothing works.
I finished this game sometime in old OPL, and I can't find information about bugs except old graphical bugs already fixed. I don't think anyone else (using OPL main fork) has this problem.
I am using OPL_v1.2.0.6-1996. Internal 4 terabyte disk, and it seems that there are no problems with disk compatibility (the first Onimusha finished it without a single crash or bug)
It is defragmented.
To reproduce this bug, simply start Onimusha 2 and watch the introductory video. After the scene where Jubei runs through a rain forest, the scene ends, it goes black and there is no more response from the game. However, the IGR works

Just tested this myself using a ziso of the NTSC version in Mode 1.

It did hang for a bit after the scene with Jubei running in the forest. But I gave it a good minute or so and it resumed. So I believe it may be a delay and not a full on crash?

@Dreadmore Did you read all messages about Onimusha 2 problem? First FMV is not a problem, I have checked it and know that 1 minute wait unfreeze it (you even dont need mode 1 to do that). To see a real problem you need to finish around 4/5 of the game and it freeze during airship cutscene. Mode 1 doesnt help, any mode doesnt work, waiting even 10 minutes doesnt resume the game. Just search the thread.

You know I couldn't reproduce that solution :S. However, as you were told in another post, that doesn't fix the freeze that occurs much later in the game.

Need a little help here, downloaded the latest OPL from grimdoomer
(https://github.com/grimdoomer/Open-PS2-Loader/releases - v1.2.0.6-1996 Beta).

Copied it over the renamed OPL.elf that I launch from FMCB PS2 hacked OSD into the memory card.

I believe it detected the internal HD because I see several folders inside my newly formated drive.
I put the iso into DVD folder but nothing.

When launching OPL it does that characteristic sound of loading the HD module but there's no game to be seen.

I'm using a 128GB microSD card that I addepted to a MicroSD -> IDE adapter into an official PS2 network adapter.

Any idea? Is this because the SD card is too slow? It used to work fine with older OPLs and the APA drive structure but I want to move to exFat internal HD and later get a 8TB drive into my PS2.

EDIT: Firgured out. You need to disable the HDD in OPL settings. Enable BDM and go into block devices and enable HDD.

That's why when you fork a project you change the readme, so you add this kind of information.

But I guess how it works belongs to page X and X+1 in some forum. LoL
Correct about readme, but you are asking it here, so before posting you could have read the topic first, repeated dozen of times already.
LOL my ass clown.

Which adapter are you using? I would like to use one too

It's been so many years that I have no idea which one exactly.
I believe it's similar to this one:
https://www.amazon.com/Bewinner1-Ad...3753456&sprefix=micro+sd+to+id,aps,245&sr=8-3

I have used this with a micro sd card extension that I glued to the side of the ps2, so I can just take the card out without opening the console.

If you guys need to keep repeating, maybe just put it on the first post of the thread?

Like the information that exFat was ported to main OPL but ONLY for USB and MX4SIO, I had to read Dude1 talking to Dude2 that grimdoomer's work was half ported.

Oh, and finally, yeah I know I'm right, because that's how you do stuff the right way, github isn't just a file hosting service, you know? ;))

Hi, I have another problem. Nothing works for me. I uploaded v1.2.0.6-1996. I have a 125 GB drive, but my ps2 can't see the games. I followed the directions from youtube and the ssd or disk drive from the laptop does not work.

No I just saw the post describing the freeze on the intro and having to skip the intro to bypass the freeze. So I replied to that. But I'll go read the other 18 pages of this thread right away

I use an ide HDD and Sony official PS2 network adapter. I formatted the hard drive to exfat in Windows 10.
Enable BDM and go into block devices and enable HDD.
And I put an ISO game file with a very short name in the DVD folder.
The problem is that when I boot up and run opl, the game list does not show this game.
I wonder if I need a sata HDD to use this feature.
