PS2 [Testers Needed] OPL internal exfat 2TB+ HDD and multi-BDM devices

Does Beta 1.2.0 2048 works with exFat formated HDDs?

I'm in the middle of my OPL Beta 1.2.0.6 compatibility list. Over 400 games tested, launched from exfat HDD, save/load checked and played for 30-60 min each. Only one game, so far doesnt work at all - Donkey Xote.

Is this list available somewhere? For exfat HDD's. I'm having issues with some games.

A real shame if this is abandoned, it's a great setup that works most of the time.

I found a really odd but not at all important glitch:

When using any normal controller everything works fine, but when plugging in a Guitar Hero controller, the cover art doesn't load. No idea how these two things could possibly be connected, but it is consistent. When booting the PS2 with the Guitar Hero controller plugged in, no cover art. If I unplug and reboot, it returns. Hilarious little hiccup.

Was this project abandoned? Grindoomer at least hasn't logged in in over a month and its github hasn't shown any activity in 2 months. The bad thing is that when a user made a request in the main OPL, about large capacity disk support, they sent him precisely to the Grindoomer fork...

hello. i'm using the latest 1996 beta with a 4tb transcend SSD230S and the game list doesn't show and when i reconnect it to my pc, i show unformatted. is this ssd incompatible. hddtester shows it's 512 sector size.

I hope not. I would really like PS1 support for exFAT drives

Except it's not really up to OPL whether to support exFAT drives but the POPStarter itself.
And POPStarter already stopped development even way before this fork existed.

1.2.0.6

After hitting start HDD I get refresh animation in the corner but nothing show up in the list. After connecting the HDD to the PC via SATA to USB adapter I see it creates other directories and games.bin in the DVD directory lists NFSHP2 SLES_507.31 .ISO .

Tried several previous versions but no luck.
When I put the HDD to HDD/SATA adapter and plug it in PS2 USB then OPL load the games on it but as I put the HDD inside with the Network adapter clone then it loads nothing even though it created folders and games.bin.

Use OPL Menager on your PC, use it to correct rename ISO files to classic naming or select modern name style. ISO files shoud be in DVD folder that OPL create. Delete games.bin file. Now try HDD with Network adapter. Search this thread for info what options change in OPL menu for HDD (dont remember if correct: BDM start mode : Auto; Block Devices: HDD On; HDD start mode : Off.) test if works.

I might try it but I don't think it will help anything because the image works in USB (on the same disk with adapter, it's my own backup from original game disc) and MX4SIO. I hope in some more development but I see no new releases since may so I would probably stick to HD Installer with APA.

Hi,
thank you for this version which support exfat internal HDD. I have some questions:

1. Do you work for official OPL developers so this changes will be in official release of 1.2.0 version? I ask because there are official opl 1.2.0 beta which not support exfat internal HDD.

2. Must be files on internal exfat HDD perfectly defragmented? I ask because USB games must be defragmented.

BTW I am missing in your latest beta (v1.2.0.6-1996) "Check USB game fragmentation". Also, if HDD games need to be defragmented too, there should be check for HDD fragmentation same as USB check.

Having an issue with VMC Fragmenting. I've tried deleting then re-creating, restarting after creating, etc.

Was there a folder I was supposed to create/rename? Seems similar problems on earlier builds required the OPL+(?) partition to be made larger. With this being one partition I'm unsure of the fix.

ok so ive tested all the opl betas and all have the same problem of not seeing the hdd games on a coldboot/restart of ps2

for the games to show up opl has to be loaded twice. but if the opl reset button combo is used then games show up fine

is @grimdoomer not active anymore?

If this project is dead then it is a shame. This was a step forward for OPL internal HDD support. I hope the official branch picks this up at some point. With the imminent release of the MemCard Pro 2 and GameDB/GameID support needed within OPL for it, (the MemcardPro 2 creators say support for it is coming in OPL, so must be in official fork) anyone using @grimdoomer fork will be forced to update and reformat their HDD back to the old system. That is a step backwards for OPL as far as I am concerned and that is a certain shame.

I might dump the whole internal HDD idea completely and just go with a USB HDD instead, It may be the only solution.

I don't think it is necessary to update to a "non-grindoomer" version, on Twitter there are already testers showing the correct operation of memcard pro 2 with the current OPL.
On OPL github (official), I made a request for large disk support, you can support it if you want. Or, create a more elaborate one
