I have a Slim PS3 2503B throwing up error code 8001050F when trying to set the time and date via internet. When trying to sign in on PSN I get error code 80010519. Launching any game with trophy support will show a trophy error and the game needs to quit. The time and date needs to be set every boot even if the PS3 power plug is left in. I have already changed the CMOS battery. Wondering if anyone has any guidance, since most results about these error codes on Google come up with a leap year glitch from 2010 on mainly fat PS3 consoles.


I did update the system to the latest software both from the XMB and safe mode. I tried also formatting multiple times and restoring default settings.

I'm on OFW on this system.

What surprises me is why the clock will not hold even when the system is plugged in on power. Since as far as I'm aware the battery is for when the system is left unplugged from power for a while. No matter what the system always loses the date and time on every shutdown.

Are You sure that battery was fresh? If I'm not mistaken it must keeps 3V. Eventually there is something damaged which prevent getting power from battery etc.

And yes, after first internet sync of time & date (manual will set it only in XMB, while You need set it for RTC which OFW not allowing in other ways than online synchronization) this should be stay.

afaik, you cant really set the time until you sync the clock using the PSN server and given your having trouble signing in to your playstation account, there's something weird on your console, I hope its not a console ban.

I remember that a console ban will loose the ability to sync to time using the sony servers.

so far the only potential fix for this is CFW, not sure if HEN can fix this.

Im very sure the battery is fine as it is new, a duracell one. I should add that when I entered my login info with the device setup password I am greeted by a welcome message which includes my PSN ID and asking me if I want to go to the PS Store. I get no error until I press O to cancel the store visit. If however I accept the option it takes me to the store but I remember seeing 'Guest' not my PSN ID in there. Also I've seen videos which show a message clearly outlining if a console was banned or suspended. I only get error codes not an actual written message. I'm thinking maybe something the battery port relies on has gone bad. Not a clue what that may be as im not that knowledgeable.
