Three beeps after formatting my slim PS3

I had the new Rebug installed in my console and it was running fine, only Gran Turismo 6 was a little slow, but everything was ok. I formatted my console first via the format utility and then the fan was raising speed at all times, but the temperature was the same around 60ºC. I formatted the HDD and tried to reinstall the CFW and now, it doesn't turn on. I can't boot into Safe Mode at all, it only beeps and shuts down.

Power Supply and HDD are out of question. It was running fine and I played for quite a while without issue of turning off (it was replaced not too long ago) and HDD was tested by CrystalDiskInfo and HDD Tune Pro and it passed on both tests. It is quite a new hard drive, it was replaced on last year around the time I replaced the power supply.

Thanks for any advice

Have you tried formatting the HDD in your PC (PS3 format utility doesn't format all partitions), then putting it back in and entering safe mode. I had it once where the cobra payload was stopping safe mode from working, and because that is on the HDD (virtual flash partition) this can be fixed by formatting in a PC (Joonie told me, luckily as I was about to crack the case and use the e3 to unbrick which is hassle, redoing thermal paste etc).

BTW: how far did you get in the FW reinstall? did it complete? or fail at a certain %? or give an error etc?

I tried with Quick Format, I will try now formatting on my PC with Full Formatting.

No, I can't reinstall FW because it doesn't boot into Safe Mode. I formatted once inside the XMB itself because I wanted to try to inject my own trophies inside to recover them after formatting and wanted to know if it was possible, then I disconnected the HDD, formatted inside my computer using MiniTool Partition Wizard and then I connected the HDD again to reinstall. I already did this on my friend's PS3 when it corrupted the FW and it worked, I dont know why now it didn't for me.

When I installed my FW, it run fine. I wanted to reinstall just because GT6 was a little bit slow and wanted to get rid of some junk, installing first all game data from my discs then installing some of the games that I was playing.

Quick format should have been enough. No need for full format. Im not sure then.

And yeah I should have asked if it was phat or slim, as payload is on real flash on a phat, not hdd like on slims

I remember now that I will try to rewrite the partition table to see if it works with Gparted. I had a similar issue connecting a new HDD inside my laptop, with Windows refusing to format the HDD.

It's waste of time and energy... PS3 doesn't recognize anything which is not with ps3 partition table with encrypted fs partitions. It's sufficient to just make quick format or write on first sectors 512B.

If You don't have EID Root Key and know how to generate keys, and basic knowledge of Linux or BSD, it's a waste of time. ;) Filesystem is encrypted so before You don't decrypt it (at least on the fly), You will recover nothing.

This also have no sense... GT6 is slow because it's broken by design. ;)
