PS3 Trying to upgrade to SSD and Bricked PS3?

I have a 160GB PS3 Fat model that I put in a new 1TB SSD drive. When botting up it said it could not find the file system. I made a USB drive with the PS3>UPDATE>PS3UPDAT.PUP file and put it in the system.

It started the process and then after it rebooted the screen stayed black while the console was still on. Now, after multiple attempt to power off and reboot its just a black screen,. Did I brick this? If so, how do I revive it?

Boot into safe mode, and have the Sony firmware in a USB stick in the appropriate folders. Now select the last option to update your system software, insert your USB and follow the on screen prompts

When I remove the SSD and boot the console the screen will say there is no appropriate storage media found. If I plug it in and reboot the TV says no signal. Any ideas?

It wont boot into that mode when the drive is in. I am goign to remove it and format it to FAT32 and reinstall it and try this again. Not sure what the issue is. System was fine so this has to do with the software/ssd combination.

i recommend you to try to install a 480gb ssd adata SU650 im using the old release that has a green etiquette, i did not test the new version, maybe it will work. the blue etiquette one, it happened to me once i tried to install a 960gb ssd adata SU650 old release, then when i got that one into my ps3 it went good, for my end i have right now more than a year using it and it goes really good, no issues so far or performance loss due to that i do not install and delete game cache too much, i have everything that i need in there and i did not spent nearly a 1tb of writing usage of it
