Finally got how to spoof it....realized that PS3 needs to connect to its proxy server from the console side.

EDIT: Skullator's account got removed from Youtube so we can't see his videos!

Allright, finally managed to get my console working with spoofed PSN. My region is Southeast Asia (Malaysia/Singapore) and you will need to add the link here inside the provy server gui: http://fsa01.ps3.update.playstation.net/update/ps3/list/sa/ps3-updatelist.txt

Then, you will need to download my file here and load it into the proxy app.

If you're struggling to connect the proxy server, you might want to see the console region type first. See this link here to determine what kind of region code of your console, usually with 2 characters: http://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/Regions

Then, after determining the region code, you will need to do some trial & error to go to the update list link by this: http:// f[region-code]01.ps3.update.playstation.net/update/ps3/list/[region-code]/ps3-updatelist.txt

Example: http://fsa01.ps3.update.playstation.net/update/ps3/list/sa/ps3-updatelist.txt

After that, you will need to copy the contents inside the update list link and edit the contents by leaving the content text like this:

Example:

Where [target-ID] can be determined from the update list link and also [PS3-firmware-4.82-official-link] can be determined by going to this link here: http://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/4.82_CEX, and copy the 4.82 firmware download link according to your console region type.

After that, save the text file and open up the proxy app and enter the update list link and load the text file beside the update list link.

there's currently no way to access psn on 5.05.

Hey I did everything in that video and updated my server files (I live in canada), entered everything correctly on both my computer and ps3 (ip address and port wise) and when I test the connection, it succeeds in obtaining the ip address but fails for internet connection. also on FW 4.82 with han installed, not currently enabled though. does anyone have some troubleshooting tips for this issue? thanks!

That did the trick, thank you , I was struggling because I didn't understand the distinction between my geographic region and the console region

Hey I'm in the exact same region with the exact same issue.

Edit: I solved my issue, under the replace files section I noticed all of the "PS3ProxyServer\(country).txt" were located under C: drive but I do my work under E: drive, i changed that and it was solved.

Hello, did everything finally after a lot efforts my PS3 successfully gets connected to the server. But still it shows the update, can anyone help me with that? My PS3 is of India(RU) region. I will be very thankful if anyone can help me.

Check your internet connection, mine's link just working as usual.

Did you open the file "PROXY SERVER LIST.TXT"? That file tells everything!

Update - checked the video no help. Already completed everything else properly. There was no discussion of proxy server list for other regions in the video :|. Man I am this from almost 3 days still no luck. I don't think it will work for me.

Yes did everything. Even tried getting the 4.82 firmware link from here - http://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/4.82_CEX and paste it in the file, still nothing. Ya let me check thw video once. :|
