When I boot a ps2 game(I've tried several games) I get black screen, then the Hdmi connection between the ps3 and the television is disconnected. How can I fix it?

For some strange reason, after a bunch of trying, everything finally decided to work. I have 2 more questions. I tried doing a psx game, but the rif program won't accept the eboot and when trying to do a psp game, it says something is wrong with the eboot.

Skip that part and convert the pkg at the end

Hello,
I'm having some trouble getting PS2 backups to work.
Game encrypted, PKG created, game PKG signed and copied to USB.
Obtained RAP, created RIF, copied RIF to USB.
Obtained PS2 Classics Placeholder, signed it and copied to USB.

On PS3,
Enable HAN, install game PKG and PS2 Placeholder PKG (both previously signed), use HAN to copy RIF.

Whenever I try to open my game I get error 80029517.
I've tried Burnout 3 and Dark Cloud but both same results.

Did you use the latest resigner it creates a .pgk of the rif to install it as long as you enable han first

I have the latest resigner.
I have figured out my problem thanks to your point!! Thank you.
I was dragging the RAP file onto rifgen to get the RIF. Instead I placed the RAP in the rap folder then ran resign_all.bat which made the PKG. Installed and instant fix

Don't use USB, do it through a local server. I was having a lot of errors while using USB together with my wired controller.

I get what you mean. When i was cooking up a batch of PS1 games to install, when i got to the PSN Content install part, a few would fail to install and the noted file size was much lower than it should. I re copied the failed games and for some reason it worked... Which is odd as i didn't remake the PKGs, just copied the same finished PKGs and repeated the install process.

As for the server, thats my next hurdle to overcome. On PC side, all seems to work. But PS3 coughs up an error which i checked and seems to be a connection problem... So my guess is the server isnt running correctly....

Did some more testing....
I've got PSP Minis to work, albeit only 1 so far: A Space Shooter For 2 Bucks.

Follow the guide to make PSP backups up till you click "Options" in PSP2PS3 GUI. Select PSP Minis tick box and leave the rest default. Once you click "Convert" you will get a prompt to ask if you would like to sign, select NO to not sign.
Take output PKG and resign with resighner tool, DONE!

Couple of PSP fails:

Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops+

Didn't work for me. I can get to and navigate the main menu. But black screen and console crash when trying to load into game :(

Gitaroo Man Lives!
Black screen after boot then crashes :(

  1. Rename the "PS1 Classics PSN Work Folder" to your Game TitleID
  2. Copy the folder to Trueancestor PKG Repacker
  3. choose "fast PKG""

I still can't make this work, I have a game with the titleID "SLPS_034.32", should I use this format in the cmd and the folder name or its just SLPS03432?

Place the GameID folder into the 'game' folder within True Ancestor (trueancestor/game/"GAMEID") . Then follow rest of guide.
Not sure about GameID "SLPS_034.32", I'd keep the gameid the same... But if failed, try again without "_" and "."

Thanks for the tutorial, unfortunately I'm still getting the error even when I enabled debug packages. Here's what I did:

1. Downloaded ISO
2. Encrypted ISO and got the ISO.BIN.ENC
3. Converted to PKG
4. Signed package with resigner, (it asked me if it was psp or psx, I just typed in ps2)
5. Found the RAP file for placeholder and converted to rif
6. Copied the files to USB
7. Installed Placeholder after enabling Debug
8. Tried to install the PKG, still gave me the error.

Nevermind, it worked, but only with SLPS03432
