PS3 [TUTORIAL] How to convert PS3 Folder to PKG

Hi guys its me again with another tutorial Step by step.

Step 1: So first what we need is ps3cfwtools and resigner v2.0.
Step 2: Find The Folder of the game where PS3_GAME and PS3_UPDATE are no problem if it doesnt have PS3_UPDATE.
Step 3: So u need to have the LICDIR in the PS3_GAME Folder if u dont have it the game will not work so try generating with ps3cfwtools, if the folder have the LICDIR u dont need to generate.
Step 4: Then we need to send the PS3_GAME Folder where the cfw2ofw helper is.
Step 5: Drag the PS3_GAME Folder to the cfw2ofw helper.
Step 6: Wait till all things in the cfw2ofw helper are done then press any button to exit.
Step 7: After all are done u will get two Folders one is BLUS**** and the other one should be NPUB****(Example)
Step 8: Copy & paste both u got the BLUS and NPUB paste them to make-backup pkg then press do.
Step 9: Wait till it creates the .pkg, the patch and the LIC after creating them u will get 3 pkgs one is lic one patch and one the game.
Step 10: Copy & Paste the three pkgs u got and paste it to resigner v2.0 then drag them one by one to ps3xploit_rifgen_edatresign
Step 11: u Will get the .signed.pkg u dont need to remove the name or rename it, just delete the .pkgs u had and keep the .signed.pkgs u got now.
So yea that's it hope u will enjoy,
 
Should work for CFW consoles, but HAN its supposed to not support games that doesn't have updates, and If I recall CFW2OFW automatically search for the game. if the game is not supported based on the information of the database it won't even try procesing the PS3_GAME folder, it will only tell you that the game is not supported. Still... very nice tutorial, easier to understand for everyone compared to the other ones that already exist

In other tutorial they say internet is required why is that and how much data would be consumed

it depends on the game, it uses internet to verify on their database if the game is compatible or if it haves a special method of conversion then it needs internet to download the updates of the game, so depending of the size of the updates, its the internet/data that gets used

I don't see any need for Internet with HAN except for the act.dat file creation which requires you to sign into PSN then sign off. This step requires very little data.
That might be the reason for the tutorial to mention Internet as requirement.

If you prepare your games with CFW2OFW, you apply all the game updates already anyway so there is no need to install updates from the ps3.

This was a good tutorial and the one that best explained how to create packages to me. Pithy and concise. Too many tutorials out there are bloated like a dead corpse. I saw one tutorial on this forum that was, like, 35-40 steps (!) and another guy did another tutorial that explained the exact same thing in 3 steps. Needless to say, I liked his tutorial too :cool:
 
Sorry to necrobump, but would that bypass the mandatory installation some games have?
Let's say MGS 4 for example.
 
Need some help here. I don't know what ps3cfwtools is and I can't find any working download link because everytime I google ps3cfwtools it just refers to tools for cfw in general and I don't really know what to look out for

EDIT: I did find what seems to be the right program but every single download link I could find is dead. I there an alternative?
