PS3 «TUTORIAL» - PlayStation3 - Coldboot/Gameboot Collection (0.90/1.00/3.00)

So while surfing the web,i stumbled across some intresting video from PSM3, if any of you 90s kids remember, PSM or PlayStation Magazine, was a PlayStation Magazine published in the 90s during the PS1,PS2 and PS3 era, which usualy came bundled with demo discs.

During the PlayStation3 launch in 2006, PSM received a Pre-Production Debug PlayStation3,from the looks of it and the chassis transparency it doesnt look like a DECHA00A, although it has the Debug functionality enabled, although it looks like a CBEH1000 or a CBEH1100, anyway the model doesnt matter, but what its worth looking its the Pre-Production XMB shipped with it, from the looks of it its either a 0.090 or a 0.095 XMB, notice the different Start-Up tune, the delayed Sony Computer Entertaniment Coldboot, and the PLAYSTATION3 Gameboot wave transparency without any sound, neat stuff for devs to explore and recreate.

If either of you have knowledge on what version of the firmware it might be, your contribution its greatly appreciated

- Pre-Production XMB In-Depth

- Pre-Production Start-Up
does it work with ps3 hen 2.2.2?
Now most of the users have PS3 HEN 2.2.2
So.if it works on PS3 HEN

Unfortunately at the moment no, i discussed the same thing, to make it more like the previous firmwares 2.80,which the gameboot only appeared on PLAYSTATION3 Software Format and for the PLAYSTATION2 and PLAYSTATION Software Format a fading wave was in place.

You can trigger that without doing anything to the game_ext_plugin.sprx. Thats the way I have mine personally, I never released it with the gameboot I did. The only thing is the fading wave will do the same as the gameboot and trigger the sametime the gameboot does on games and apps.

It looks quit good to have it instead of a blank black background. I have it blue background, with half green half blue wave + the PS game boot. Also edited the wave for the coldboot so it starts black, then goes to a half red half clear wave that then fades into the animated coldboot.

What a pity that is not possible. I also researched this and saw that a file controls the gameboot. I hope someday somebody should bring it back. thanks for listening!

I meant like the previous firmwares like 2.80,remember that? You had the PLAYSTATION3 coldboot only when launching a PlayStation3 Software Format, for any other format, you had a fading wave,it would be neat to restore that back, so i don't have to listen each time i boot a PS2 Title [emoji1787][emoji1787]

I knew exactly what you meant lol.... was just saying there are other ways to trigger it and how i used it to my advantage in combining it with the gameboot animation.

So if you couldn't use the sprx to do something then you could at least trigger a gameboot fading wave without the animation. Could be usefull for HAN/HEN users.

I know it is not the completly right thread but I got another question of XMB Moding. Like in 0.90 the PS Butten Menu where you can turn off the controlelr or the ps3 got nice backround images like at the end of this video:

Is there a way to get these also back like the cold and gameboots? that would be soo cool.

you might be able to do it through the impose_plugin.rco. that's what that screen is.

it might be a part of @LuanTeles mods. I know I've seen that image before, and I haven't seen that video before. it was just a still image of the background.

Oh I even know this mod. Nice it seems to be a part of it. I try to extract it to use it standaloe. Im trying to get my CECHB00 to be kind of 0.90 looking ^^ boot sound and logo allready set :D

I'm thinking it is. the only memory I have is a still image of it from a video that was posted of his mod. you'll have to check, but it's called impose_plugin.rco and goes in the dev_blind/vsh/resource folder, so it's probably written PS3~dev_blind~vsh~resource in the pkg. that's a mounting point.
