PS3HEN [Tutorial] [PS3HEN] The Great Ps3 HEN All in One Guide

so even if my login details are auto-saved, as long as auto-login is off when I HEN my console and un-HEN it via reinstalling OFW recovery mode style, ill be perfectly fine after the fact?

So I just saw that the ps3xploit website got attacked and I cant use it until it gets un-attacked. Plus, using the nopsn mirror just returned a bunch of "cant find blah blah blah at address(es) blah blah blah" errors and then the initialize HEN Installer returned a HEN failed, refresh and try again message

I see the offline method of doing this, but it says I need to make a webserver of my own to offline install? I just ate pretty good, and im about to go into a food coma, and I don't want to bother with that :madd:

you can use an android app called kws. its very small.

afaik, auto update only works if you're a psn+ subscriber. it may be true of the ps4 as well, but I know that downloads automatically no matter what.

@Coro , you might want to mention possibly using a file manager to get the root directory of the phone. I had to do that for kws or it didn't work. mine is an alphanumeric of random letters and numbers.

wait.....when you talk the root directory of a phone, we talking about THE root directory (ala jailbreaking a phone to get into the file structure forbidden to normie users), or base root directory (phone/sd card, videos music etc...)

by root directory i mean whatever folder is setup to be used by the webserver. on kws this is called "home directory" in settings. i just mean put the files where the webserver expects them to be located.

base root directory based on your description. look in a file manager. mine is 8 alphanumerics with a dash.

this is what mine looks like:

so.....I feel entirely dumb for not noticing this, but I just woke up, and I had the thought "dude, the ps3xploit website got mirrored, all of it, including the stuff needed for the step 2 method of installing HEN, you IDJIT"

So I check out the nopsn mirror links for the support files, and I see it has a newer version than the one at the front page, will it matter any if I use the newer version than the older one?

You want to use the version that matches your current firmware version.

I've also updated the guide to point to a tutorial made by @Coro that runs through setting up a webhost on your android device, allowing you to host the exploit from there.
Once you have HEN installed and setup, the exploit being hosted isnt needed as enabling HEN is all done offline.

so I did step 2 of method 2, and after selecting Latest_HEN_Installer_3.0.1_signed-486C.pkg in the package installer, I got "An error occurred during the install operation (80029564)"

wat do

What firmware version are you on?
The link I have in the guide is for firmware version 4.86.

If you are trying to access ps3xploit to install the HAN support files, that wont work as the website is down.
You also need to enable flash write by accessing the exploit ps3xploit but, again, the website is down.

Use Coros guide found HERE to host the website yourself on an android device. If you don't have access to and android device, a PC will also surfice, but I don't know what you'd need to host from a PC.

I used the MEGA link in the HFW tab on the very first page of this thread to get the firmware file for HFW'ing my CECH-3001A console, did the recovery mode method of updating, then I did the method 2 of HEN installing but for the links provided, I just slapped a nopsn.com/mirror/ in the 2nd link provided, and ended up getting the zip file needed for step 2 of method 2. I did use nopsn to get the updated HAN support files for 4.86 instead of using the 4.84 support files, but the end result was the same: step 1 of method 1 was a success, step 2, not so much, hence the error code

I mean, do I NEED the 4.84 support files to install the 4.86 HEN files, or did I do everything right using the nopsn mirror links, or did I do a wrong after all?

I've read some reports saying the nopsn mirror isn't working correctly, hense why Coro wrote the tutorial to host the website yourself.

If you can't get any results from the methods/mirror sites here, then maybe wait till the main ps3xploit site returns.

EDIT: If you are on 4.86 then you want 4.86 HFW and support files

I rebooted my console, and the * Package Manager thing is still there. So since installing HAN succeeded, does that mean I can skip the offline method of installing HAN and go to the HEN steps next?

HAN_Flash_Mount still needs to be executed to allow the HEN pkg to install, this is why you are getting an error when trying to install it.

http://nopsn.com/mirror/**ps3xploit...d by team** (ps3xploit.me =new)/hen/rewrite/
Access this website on the Ps3, if it succeeds, then you can continue with istalling the HEN pkg
