Yes, thank you. I was missing or let's say confused about the step, where we need to add the rap file to exdata folder. I also installed irismod and webman mod,but my PS3 is freezing up after these installations. I set the fan temp to dynamic and auto via webman, observing the system now.
Also, adding the package file to HDD before installation is crazy, is there a way to install the PKG without adding it to HDD from a USB or Remote location? It took me almost 3 hours just to add uncharted 2 among thiefs GOTY, and I have to clear 38 GB from my 120 GB HDD :( just to install it

webMAN MOD sets manual fan speed by default on HEN because dynamic fan cause black screen issues when the games/homebrews are launched. So I recommend to change to manual fan speed.

You can install install the PKG directly from USB, but the extracted files will consume the same size of the PKG on internal HDD unless you enable the external gameDATA that redirects /dev_hdd0/game to /dev_usb000/GAMEI (FAT32). But you still will need 38GB free on the external USB. If there are files larger than 4GB, the installation will fail.

You can gain about 8GB of free space installing and executing "PS3 Unlock HDD Space".

Once the PKG is installed, you can gain extra free space ripping the languages that you don't use and the 3D movies. Also the PKG is not needed.

If you extract the PKG on the PC, you can automate the ripping process using PS3RIP found in PS3 Tools Collection.

Uhm... I tried with one and it does give me an error if HEN is not enabled, but works fine with HEN enabled.

On the other hand I tried two demos. One works with or without HEN, but the other works only without HEN and if HEN is enabled then I get a black screen and the PS3 needs to be powered off by longpressing the power button. Maybe HEN interacts differently with various games? Oho my bad... I tried again and both worked. I am not sure if this is the reason, but the first time when I got a black screen, I think I had inserted the USB stick AFTER enabling HEN. When I tried again, I inserted the USB while powered off, then booted and enabled HEN, and I got no black screen. Does it make sense?

Hi everyone,
the day for jailbreaking my PS3 finally came.

I've got the Super Slim version CECH-4204C therefore I'm forced to use HEN instead of CFW.
Also I don't know if it will make things easier, but I've found out that my OFW version is 4.81.

Do you guys maybe know if I still need to update my firmware to OFW 4.86?
Even my OFW is already older and therefore the exploits should work there?

I plan to use the HEN Installation Method 1 from the first Page in this thread.
Then I plan to install MultiMAN and WebMAN.

Because I've got this PS3 from my brother and I plan to play games associated with his account I would like to make sure that there is no way my brothers account could be banned based on the things I'll do.

Therefore I plan to uncheck the 'remember password' box on the PSN sign in menu for his account. Also I plan to create a new account which I plan to use for everything I do after the jailbreaking. This way my brothers account should be safe and I should be able to play the games he has installed on the console. Hopefully I'm right.

Do you guys think I missed anything important? Or do you recommend to do any other steps before/after jailbreaking the device? I don't want to miss anything important.

Do you maybe know if I need to update my firmware to OFW 4.86 before jailbreaking?
(as suggested in the Installation Method 1 on the first page)
Currently I'm on OFW 4.81.

if you will be using HEN, you need HFW 4.84 or above. you should use HFW 4.87 because it is latest. OFW will not work.

It is not mandatory, but adviced. You can update to OFW first and then install the HFW. After that you can install HEN
 
Hey guys, I've been using the Ps2 Classics Placeholder to run some ps2 games and I was looking for the memory cards to manage the saves, but wasn't able to find it. There is a save for the placeholder in the ps2 saves folder, but its just one single archive. I know this must be a fool question, a looked on other posts but seems like it was too old content. Anyway, anyone knows how do I see and manage the saves in this supposed memory card that the placeholder uses? I don't know if it gets full, but I want to manage and delete some saves.
 
Hello, after I tried some PKG-PS2 games on my HEN PS3 Super Slim, I found that I can't see the temperature through Webman by pressing the START+SELECT to display it.
On ISO PS3 games it works with no issue and I want to be sure that my PS3 has safe temperatures while playing PS2 games.
So, is there a way to see the temperature in PKG format PS2 games?

not on HEN, no. webman and HEN are unloaded when rebooting into PS2 mode. the best you can do is set a good fan speed for PS2 in webman. i recommend at least 40%. more if your ps3 runs hot.

Does the manual fan speed of PS2 that I set in Webman is still maintained even when booting the PS2 game? Since you specified that HEN and Webman are unloaded, sounds unlikely but would be really nice to be at least like this.
