PS3HEN [Tutorial] [PS3HEN] The Great Ps3 HEN All in One Guide

Does the manual fan speed of PS2 that I set in Webman is still maintained even when booting the PS2 game? Since you specified that HEN and Webman are unloaded, sounds unlikely but would be really nice to be at least like this.
yes. the PS2 speed will be set when mounting ps2 game with webman. it will stay at that speed when ps2 starts.

I'm playing on the installed pkg format PS2 games from XMB, how to mount those in Webman?
i do not remember (i have not played ps2 on ps3 for a long time). i believe that you can just set the regular fan setting to a manual speed and then start the game.

Hey, so my PS3 which is stuck on 4.88.1 HFW cannot be downgraded to OFW 4.88 for some reason.. (to install CFW) when I tried to install OFW it said that a suitable PS3 update was not available or smth like that. And it's killing me cause I've tried doing it in safe mode, tried reinstalling the OFW File etc. is there any way to fix this? I'm done with Hen and will never mess around with this ever ugh

bgtoolset works while on HFW.

Not sure if it's the same on HFW, but on CFW I believe the ".1" after 4.88 doesn't mean much to the PS3, since the PS3 will still recognize it as 4.88. It is just a naming scheme developers adopt for releases/firmware updates.

have you had CFW on this PS3 before?
No, I've never actually installed CFW on my PS3 Slim, I saw the new Evilnat 4.88 CFW and thought of getting it cause PS3Hen isn't a great PS2 Emulator, turns out my PS3 was the final PS3 Slim which could be Jailbroken with CFW (CECH-25XXB) - (Date Code- 0D) manufactured in 2010 and I used Minvercheck and found out the MFW to be 3.50 and that was a safe FW.. I never knew my PS3 supported CFW and had used Hen/Han the entire time.. I just completed the Memory Exploit and tried but this time it said ("The data is corrupted" at around 72%.").. so yeah..

i don't know what you mean by memory exploit. if you used the bgtoolset to jailbreak, you have to restart the ps3 once before installing CFW.

Well I actually did restart my system and tried installing it but it still gave me the same error.. also, should you redo the bgtoolset flash memory editor patch every time you try to install CFW?

no. only need to use the toolset again if you install OFW or HFW.

check the md5 of the pup. also remember that you must first install a CFW that is equal or higher than yours. so if you are on 4.88 before jailbreak, you must install 4.88 CFW. if you want to use a lower version, you can enable qa flag and then downgrade but only after installing 4.88 cfw first.

Wait so I have HFW 4.88 installed on my PS3 Slim, can I use Evilnat 4.88? Also what is md5? Rlly sorry cause I'm no master in jailbreaking..
One last question, what do I do about the 'corrupted data'? Will checking the so called 'md5' fix it? Or should I reinstall a fresh HFW Again? Dunno why but I simply can't install OFW :/ so yeah.

you can install evilnat 4.88 after flashing with bgtoolset and rebooting.

if you install HFW or OFW after using the bgtoolset to flash, you will lose jailbreak and have to flash again.

I used bgtoolst and did that but it still gave me the corrupted data error.. but I'll try reinstalling HFW and giving it another shot, also what is the md5 thing you mentioned in the previous post?

it is a "checksum". you can compare the md5 of two files to see if they are the same.

You use the md5 to confirm that your CFW download isn't corrupted. You should bother and be interested because if it is a bad download you're just wasting your time trying to install it. Nobody is going to be chomping at the bit to help if you're skipping basic early important troubleshooting steps.

Download and install this;
https://www.ov2.eu/programs/rapidcrc-unicode
and then use it to check the md5 of the .pup file.
It should be this for 4.88 Evilnat;

I think I'm in serious trouble..
so I dunno why but I simply can't reinstall the operating system on my PS3.. I tried switching the hard drive and trying to update on that, but it still gave me the corrupted data error.. I think I know why, so I tried doing the flash memory exploit from bgtoolset yesterday before the actual support of 4.88, which means I did the flash memory exploit when the website only supported 4.87... and now I can't install any os on both my hard drives.. also I have one question, does resetting my PS3 restore the Flash Memory back to the original state before I exploited it? I would really appreciate an answer! As I'm screwed..

no. you only need to use the toolset again after installing OFW/HFW. that is the only way to lose jailbreak.

if you used it on 4.87, you should still be able to install 4.88 CFW after.

is there an error number when it is says corrupted data?

That's my problem, it's not allowing me to re-install HFW or OFW.. so that's why I'm a asking wether I should reset my system..
The Error Code is: (8002f957)
